Queen Anne, out for a leisurely ride near Windsor Castle in 1711, happened upon an area of open heath. She thought it was the perfect place to “gallop horses at full stretch”, and Ascot Racecourse was born.

Through the gates ordinary people such as soldiers, sailors, owners, trainers and jockeys, as well as world leaders, Prime Ministers, Presidents and Royalty have passed “Uniting Two Societies” People of all classes come to Royal Ascot to enjoy the spectical of racing.

A festival that opens itself to other ways of experiencing the beauty and depth in life.

Through yoga, music, art, dance, storytelling, poetry and theatre.

Set in the gardens of ST Giles House. The home of Lord Shaftesbury
