To gain expertise in the pathological diagnosis of emerging and rare G.I. disorders and to use this information in the department of Pathology at CMC for the diagnosis of these disorders and to teach junior consultants and postgraduates about the same.

Short description of training: I spent six weeks in the G.I.Pathology laboratory of Professor Robert Odze at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston and the Pathology laboratory headed by Professor Pierre Russo, Children’s Hospital, Philadelphia. Dr Robert Odze is one of the top G.I.pathologists in the world and an expert in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Gastroesophageal reflux disease and other G.I.inflammatory disorders, neoplasms and preneoplastic conditions with extensive publications in all these topics.
