ABOUT US Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS) specialises in the design, manufacture, installation, and service of on-board weighing, bin weighing, overload protection systems and waste management software.

Our range of weighing systems are highly regarded for accuracy and reliability and are used across a range of services within local authorities, such as domestic & commercial waste management, street cleansing, building services and gritting.

Widely regarded as the UK market leader, we design and manufacture our load cells here in the UK to BS ISO9001 at our facility in Reading and have a service hub as well as an extensive installation centre in Chesterfield.

We have strong partnerships with associated companies including Applied Weighing International and VWS Software Solutions, both of which offer complementary products and services, enabling us to deliver best in class systems.

BIN WEIGHING

ENVIROWEIGH is a trade certifiable dynamic bin weighing system - accurate to class Y (b), it can be installed onto most types of RCV's bin lifting equipment and weighs the precise weight of waste collected from wheeled bin containers during the normal lifting cycle. There is no need to stop the lifter and speeds are not compromised. Each lifting carriage is installed with its own weighing loadcell, this enables the system to weigh two 2 wheeled bins independently and simultaneously.

LEGAL FOR TRADE UNDERBODY WEIGHING

Where operators charge-by-weight at the point of collection or delivery from the cab or require greater accuracy, TRADEWEIGH is a weighing system approved to class III & IIII, it can be installed on any type of rigid chassis vehicle and is perfect for waste and recycling.

TRADEWEIGH consists of 4,6 or 8 approved loadcells which are mounted between the vehicle's chassis and body.

The trade approved 260 in-cab display is used and can output to a printer in-cab, or transfer data via cable or over the air connection to back office systems.

Engineered for heavy vehicles, the approved TRADEWEIGH onboard weighing system is designed for accuracy in harsh conditions helping operators to increase profitability and protect their assets.

VEHICLE OVERLOAD PROTECTION

VOPS™️2 is not only more accurate than its predecessor it is also easier to install, an in-cab display gives drivers clear front & rear axle loading data as well as showing % of maximum gross vehicle weight. This data is shown to the driver as a clear % of legal axle weights and gross vehicle weight. The system has configurable audible and visual overload alarms.

Vehicle overloads can have serious consequences and can lead to fines, endorsements and put the operator licence at risk. Not only that, the vehicle can become unstable and put undue stress on tyres and braking systems as well as increasing fuel usage.

VOPS™️2 is leading in its field and provides continual, reliable data giving peace of mind to vehicle operators and drivers by protecting against overloads occurring.

VOPS™️2 load sensors are installed between the axle and the chassis / body of the vehicle to detect the load applied to the axles. It can be installed on any commercial vehicle ranging from 3.5-18 tonnes GVW, alerts can also be output and shown on the VWS Live web portal or via various other telematics systems.

RETRO-FITTING WEIGHING SYSTEMS

Our equipment is often the cleanest part of the vehicle!

VWS don't just install weighing systems onto nice new shiny vehicles.

We have full engineering and design facilities on site in our Chesterfield installation centre.

We always have a good number of used vehicles undergoing preparation for weighing systems, both for bin weighing and underbody systems (and at all stages of vehicle life).

WASTE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE VWS LIVE

The VWS Live system allows users live access to the weighing data from VWS Enviroweigh, Loadweigh, Tradeweigh, Vehicle Overload Protection Systems and VWS Apollo Axle Weighbridges.

All of this information is presented with list and map views as well as dashboards showing daily and weekly averages.

With Enviroweigh it is very easy to identify problems such as overloaded bins with time and location information, using built in GPS users can name locations such as depots, tipping points and individual bin locations.

VWS Live also integrates with bin tag RFID.

When used with VWS Apollo Axle Weighbridges VWS Live can be integrated with ANPR and barrier control to identify fleet, including vehicle legal axle loads and vehicle maximum gross vehicle weights.

Records can then be searched by vehicle, date etc. to check compliance and highlight any problem vehicles or driver training interventions needed.

When used with VOPS™️2 users can see the location and time the vehicles went over 100% of legal front/rear axle weights as well as gross vehicle weights being exceeded.

WASTE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE PURGO

PurGo waste management software has been organically designed from the ground up, working closely with operators to ensure the system provides a solution that is in tune with the needs of the industry.

PurGO is a highly automated and exception driven system which offers an intuitive and easy to use interface, requiring little training and support. It has been uniquely designed to seamlessly integrate with bin weighing systems.

It is a joined up waste collection solution, encompassing back office systems, in-cab & handheld devices and the waste collection crew themselves. It delivers a relevant and powerful management and intelligence tool, developed to improve operational efficiency for vehicle and waste management operators alike.

Customers using PurGo report huge revenue gains through the identification of additional bin lifts, which without the technology had previously been unachievable. Using PurGO many businesses have successfully introduced pay-by-weight services, enabling more accurate billing, and using PurGo operators are now able to reject unauthorized collections.

AXLE WEIGHBRIDGES

Vehicle Weighing Solutions offers a range of axle weighbridge solutions including high accuracy static weighpads, fixed weighbridges and portable weighing in motion systems. Each of the systems are robust and offer high accuracy vehicle weighing.

CALIBRATION & SERVICE

We recognise that quality service is as important as the quality of our products. This is why we operate a dedicated installation, service & repair centre with a team of trained and experienced mobile service engineers.

Our engineers ensure your weighing equipment is maintained and calibrated to the highest standards, and repaired in a timely manner to ensure minimum interruption to operations.

In addition to the standard 12 months warranty provided with all our weighing systems, the warranty can be further extended in 12 monthly increments to cover the expected life of the vehicle.

VWS can also offer full repair and maintenance contracts to cover the cost of parts and labour, including calibration checks and inspections.

Again this is available to cover fixed terms up to 7 years. This can be purchased with new equipment or later in the life of the product (subject to a pre-contract inspection).
