It’s crazy to think Thanksgiving – and Christmas – is just around the corner. The holiday is traditionally one of the quietest of the year in Las Vegas, as people travel home to be with families and friends, but one event is returning to Las Vegas to kickstart the holiday season: the Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix.
The first year of F1 Las Vegas was divisive. It was an economic boon for the city to the tune of $2 billion, and it made Las Vegas look like The Coolest City on Earth. But it uprooted the city (and trees in front of The Bellagio), interfering with traffic, businesses and daily life, and lawsuits linger. I’m curious to see how F1 Las Vegas pans out its sophomore year in Sin City.
Competing against – or complementing? –F1 Las Vegas is the first Neon City Festival in Downtown Las Vegas, with an inaugural lineup that includes Neon Trees, Russell Dickerson, Seven Lions, Alison Wonderland and 20+ more artists. The new music, art and culinary event is free for all ages from Nov. 22-24.
Also in this issue of Vegas Prime Magazine: Out + About at “RuPaul’s Drag Race Live,” “Lady Like” and Hofbrauhaus; Prime Picks for brunches, six top steakhouses and Enchant Christmas Las Vegas; Celebrity Takeover guest columnist the fabulous Steph Payne; Lavo, Fat Sal’s, Better Buzz, Poke Market and Brewing News in the dining scene; “The Nightmare Before a Christmas” and Martin Lawrence; and more.
Here’s to a successful first Neon City Festival, second F1 Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip –and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours (I’m already getting fatter and happier just thinking about all the upcoming great food, family and friends).

“MJ Live,” formerly at Sahara, has moved to Harrah’s. “MJ Live” is an impressive and high-energy production, with Jalles Franca, who alternates the lead role of Michael Jackson with Santana Jackson, dancing and singing his face off alongside solid dancers, and the band is equally great. A “Thriller” show!

‘RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE LIVE!’ MARKS 900TH PERFORMANCE AT FLAMINGO
“RuPaul’s Drag Race Live!” celebrated its 900th performance at Flamingo Las Vegas on Sunday, Oct. 27, and current cast members Lawrence Chaney, Asia O’Hara, Derrick Barry of Las Vegas, Kennedy Davenport and Jorgeous posed for photographs with cast and crew members in the showroom.
“RuPaul’s Drag Race Live!” is an original production based on the multiple-Emmy Award-winning reality-TV competition drag show hosted by RuPaul and most recently won by Taiwanese American performer Nymphia Wind. Join RuPaul’s showgirls as they journey through a sickening season of “Drag Race” serving Las Vegas realness, hunty.
Charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent is brought to the stage at Flamingo by a rotating cast of the world’s most famous drag show queens who have also included Aquaria, Eureka O’Hara, Jaida Essence Hall, Alexis Mateo, Naomi Smalls and many more.
“RuPaul’s Drag Race Live!” debuted on the Las Vegas Strip on Jan. 30, 2020, and is a fierce and high-energy live production heading toward its fifth anniversary. A return is in order since the last visit to the headliner production was on its third anniversary. A report from that Friday night in January 2023:
“As a ‘RPDR’ stan, I absolutely loved it! The current cast is Asia O’Hara as MC with many, many, many fabulous costume changes; Eureka O’Hara (the star of the night with ‘This Is Me’); new cast member 5-foot-2 Jorgeous, who danced her booty off; Alexis Mateo (“Bam!” “Sickening, right?!”); Britney Spears impersonator extraordinaire Derrick Barry; new cast member, Season 10 “RPDR” winner and New York look queen Aquaria; and the sexy Pit Crew that includes Mark Romain.
“It was wonderful to interview Eureka postshow and receive hugs from her, Aquaria and Jorgeous.” It was 10s, 10s, 10s across the board!
‘Lady Like – A Retro
Modern Burlesque Show’ Celebrates
First Anniversary at Virgin Hotels
Las Vegas
“Lady Like – A Retro Modern Burlesque Show” at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas celebrating its first anniversary at the resort inside the venue 24 Oxford on Oct. 24. Debuting in October 2023, “Lady Like” mixes the glitz and glamour of the 1950s and 1960s with-modern day humor and dance routines, giving audiences a show like no other in Las Vegas.
Created by burlesque experts Jaimee Gallego and Summer Soltis, “Lady Like” boasts a women-led writing team and cast, with each show being hosted by the iconic headmistress and Las Vegas showgirl Maren Wade.
“Lady Like” provides a unique insight into how the world used to be – and how the ideals of the past have grown and changed through witty humor, brilliant choreography and a few surprises along the way.
“Lady Like” on grand opening night last year was a super-fun show featuring a talented cast and great songs, choreography and costumes in the intimate 24 Oxford that also is home to “Frank Marino’s Divas” at 4 p.m. Sundays.
Wade was Vegas Prime Magazine’s Celebrity Takeover guest columnist in the Oct. 6, 2024, issue and said:
“Las Vegas is the land of opportunity. I have been blessed to do so many things here that I am completely unqualified to do. I got to sing in dozens of Las Vegas shows, including the one
I’m in right now, ‘Lady Like – A Retro Modern Burlesque Show’ at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
“I got to perform on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” I guest-hosted morning TV shows. Did I mention I wrote my own column? Plus, I’m cited as an authoritative source in Wikipedia, so I’m legit.”
“Lady Like” runs Thursdays through Saturdays starting at 9 p.m.
Las Vegas singer-songwriter
Faith and the power in positive thinking Steph Payne celebrity takeover
Growing up, I was always taught to have faith. As much as I tried to have it, I didn’t thoroughly understand the concept until later in life. But once I learned the power of positive thinking and inspired action, the world opened up to me, and I began to manifest my dreams.
I’m a California transplant like many others who have invaded Las Vegas. I came for more space and a better cost of living while caring for my grandmother who had dementia. Being a singer-songwriter, obviously the Las Vegas entertainment industry called to me.
However, it’s not an easy industry to penetrate as many others are attempting to do the same. I networked, made my rounds, worked the lounge circuit with local bands, started my own and worked hard producing quarterly shows.
During this time, I suffered lots of loss, familial and otherwise. I was stressed, overworked and still unfulfilled. But I was doing what I love: music! Having been a servant all my life whether in ministry or in the military, I didn’t mind working hard. I watched my parents do it. I just didn’t feel the hard work should be as hard.
It was then that I began to journal and put more positive focus on my goals and aspirations. Along with praying, I wrote down my goals, visualized them, spoke them out loud and generated the feeling as though I already achieved them. Almost immediately, I started to see the very things I wrote down come to pass.
It was then I realized the full understanding of faith. Faith in yourself, your higher power, your loved ones or anything else is an action word. In my experience as a war veteran, a former pastor and now a servant of entertainment patrons, the results of faith require a formula: Thought + Intention + Feeling x Action = Faith.
We must first have a thought, deliberate intention, operate daily in the feeling we already have of what we are trying to achieve and do the work until it manifests. The work is whatever your spiritual practice is and doing something every day that supports the goal, whether it’s sending an email or writing a new song.
Entertainment is especially a tough field to survive. A very small percentage of
the population makes a living doing it. Any profession can be stressful and discouraging at times. Especially when disappointment and rejection arise. There were times I thought about quitting, but I’m not cut from that sort of cloth.
I know how to keep going, but I’m human. If you are reading this, you are, too. Whatever you believe in, wherever you are from, no matter how discouraged you may become, remember you always have faith as an option to help you make things happen.
Have a little faith now and try my formula. While you might not see the results in your timing, your dreams can become a reality just as quickly as you anticipated.

Six of our favorite steakhouses in Las Vegas
Las Vegas is The Entertainment Capital of the World, but it can be argued that it also is The Steakhouse Capital of the World. Here are six of Vegas Prime Magazine’s favorite steakhouses:
STEAK
Bavette’s Steakhouse & Bar
The steakhouse transplant from Chicago is a sophisticated and sexy restaurant for prime meats, seafood towers and classic cocktails at Park MGM. Menu recs: The seafood tower, crab cake, duck and goat cheese terrine, filet, ribeye, bone marrow, thick cut bacon, truffle mac and cheese, chocolate cream pie and Old Fashioneds.
Bazaar Meat by José Andrés
The multiple James Beard Award recipient’s steakhouse at Sahara is dark, hunter chic (with fun taxidermy) and a butcher’s paradise. Menu recs: Dare we say it’s impossible to order wrong at Bazaar Meat? The Ultimate Tasting and Jose’s Way Tasting are highly recommended dining options. Everything is that good.
Carversteak
Carversteak at Resorts World is one of the best steakhouses in Las Vegas. The lounge, dining area and patio are modern, chic and sexy; Carversteak is the definition of a modern fine-dining steakhouse. Menu recs: Piedmontese, Miyazaki Wagyu and Australian Wagyu steaks, filet, lobster en croute and tableside cocktails.
Papi Steak
Vibe and party dining aren’t for everyone, but Papi Steak, a transplant from Miami, at Fontainebleau Las Vegas could teach a masterclass. The high-energy staff is fully committed as customers celebrate special occasions. Standouts: The $1,000 steak, $500 Old Fitz Fashioned, caviar and more high-end steaks and cocktails.
Scotch 80 Prime
Scotch 80 Prime at Palms Casino Resort is an innovative and classic steakhouse with an energetic vibe and warm and intimate indoor-outdoor design. Menu recs: Steaks, among them Kobe beef and the 40 oz. prime dry-aged longbone ribeye, Japanese butter bread, shrimp toast, chilled seafood tower, brie fondue and lobster.
The Steakhouse
The Steakhouse at Circus Circus, at 40 years old, is a celebrated OG with red leather booth seating, old school fixtures, quiet and classic music and a meat locker at the front entryway. Menu recs: We don’t say this lightly: The prime rib is one of the best out there – hickory-smoked, thick, juicy, flavorful and delicious. Bravo!

F1 LAS VEGAS IS BACK!
Here’s what’s new in year twofrom luxury and music to food and events
By Ed Condran
When the inaugural Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix made its Las Vegas debut in 2023, history was made. F1 Las Vegas was the single largest sporting event with the largest global audience in Las Vegas history with 316,000 fans enthralled by the epic race.
Expect a bigger event and an exciting contest for year two of F1 Las Vegas from Nov. 21-23. It’s certain to be a scene as the iconic Las Vegas Strip morphs into a nearly 4-mile stretch of racetrack.
Racers will travel 50 laps and travel at around 215 mph while zipping past an array of Las Vegas landmarks. Some of the top F1 racers, such as The Netherlands’ Max Verstappen, Mexico’s Sergio Perez and the U.K.’s Lewis Hamilton, are competing in F1 Las Vegas.
A new wrinkle for the upcoming race is the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, a single-make series that will contest two races during the weekend. The Ferrari Challenge garages will be in the heart of the Las Vegas Grand Prix Fan Experience, which will enable spectators to see racers in an up-close manner.
F1 Las Vegas is all about the fan experience. Aficionados will have the opportunity to participate in live Q&As and autograph-signing sessions with some of their favorite F1 drivers, and they can see the team show cars.
Fans can check out the F1 Academy car inside the Fan Experience and snag exclusive merchandise and interact with drivers from the all-female series.
Music is part of the F1 Las Vegas package in year two, and there are several top-tier recording artists who will showcase their music. Iconic pop-rockers OneRepublic will perform Thursday. The band, led by hitmaker Ryan Tedder, will deliver hits such as “I Don’t Wanna Wait,” “Stop and Stare,” “Counting Stars,” “All the Right Moves,” “Apologize” and “Secrets.”
The Beaches also will perform Thursday. The dynamic Canadian all-female rock band, who opened for The Rolling Stones in 2019, are an emerging indie-rock band and an engaging live act.
Ludacris will offer familiar hip-hop on Friday. Expect hits including “Area Code,” “Baby,” “What’s Your Fantasy” and “Act a Fool.” Swedish DJ Alesso and Chromeo also will perform Friday. The latter is emerging courtesy of its mix of soul, synth-pop, rock, disco and funk.
There are some cool packages, and perhaps none tops what Lewis Hamilton is offering. The seven-time World Champion is teaming up with the Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix 2024 on a three-day ticket that tips its cap to Hamilton's F1 car number, 44.
For $672 per ticket, fans will receive 44% off a three-day West Harmon Grandstand ticket with striking views of the Harmon Straight and braking zone headed toward the final turn and finish line. The experience will be complemented by interactive fan experiences, photo moments and a food-and-drink deal. Grub, water and soft drinks are part of the package.
F1 Las Vegas isn’t just an evening attraction. The Las Vegas Grand Prix will host its initial free daytime event.
Race fans will have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves into the world of Formula 1. The event will take place on Las Vegas Boulevard across from Wynn Las Vegas. The experience will feature live entertainment and local food trucks.
One of the best places to witness the Las Vegas Grand Prix is at the Bellagio Fountain Club, which features a multilevel indoor/outdoor viewing suite. The view will be tremendous, and the culinary quotient will be off the charts. Chefs Mario Carbone, David Chang, Alain Ducasse, Masaharu Morimoto and Jean-Georges Vongerichten will offer limitless fine dining, craft cocktails and sommelier-selected wines.
The Paddock Building will be one of the most soughtafter destinations during the race. There are a pair of options. Groot Hospitality’s Papi Steak Garage, which is representing the famed Miami/Las Vegas steakhouse from David “Papi” Einhorn, and Ramsay’s Garage from British chef Gordon Ramsay.
Both sites offer a three-day ticket to the race that includes an F1 Paddock pass, Paddock Club Rooftop access, pit lane walks, guided track tours, F1 Podium celebration access, a photo safari and visits to the East Harmon zone.
Enjoy a raw bar next to the pit lane at Papi Steak Garage, which includes Alaskan king crab legs, Golden Osetra caviar and split Maine lobster tails, passed hors d’oeuvres (Wagyu pastrami, lamb lollipops) and carving stations (prime rib roast and Australian New York strip loin).
Ramsay’s Garage will include live cooking stations with guest chefs interpreting Ramsay’s dishes, a pop-up of his London restaurant Lucky Cat and a night celebrating “Cool Britannia,” with a whole tomahawk rack, mini foie fat-baked Yorkshire pudding, blood sausage Scotch quail eggs, chickpea tikka masala and much more.
Few cities can rival what Las Vegas offers the F1 racers, crews and fans, and that ranges from hotel accommodations, culinary options and a truly unique vibe in The Entertainment Capital of the World. Start your engines for F1 Las Vegas!

Martin Lawrence Headlines 'Y’all Know What It Is!' at Dolby Live on
Nov. 29
Comedy legend Martin Lawrence is headlining his first national arena tour since 2016. Lawrence kicked it off July 20, and the “Y’all Know What It Is!” tour will head to nearly 40 cities across the U.S. through April, with a stop at Dolby Live at Park MGM on Friday, Nov. 29, aka the day after Thanksgiving.
“Y’all Know What It Is!” is an all-new, fresh one-hour set where the high-energy and wide-eyed Lawrence brings the real talk and finds the funny in everything from family to culture as only he can.
Guests picked by Lawrence are some of the hottest comics on the mic, including Adele Givens, B. Simone, Chico Bean, D.C. Youngfly, Deon Cole, Desi Banks, Jess Hilarious, Mojo Brookzz, Ms. Pat, Rickey Smiley and more. Guest comedians vary by city, with Banks, Ms. Pat and Benji Brown set for the Las Vegas date.
“Comedy gives me that instant gratification,” Lawrence said. “Seeing the fans up close and in person, making people laugh, doing what I love most, this is what it’s all about for me. But hey … y’all know what it is!”
Lawrence, hailed by fans as one of the greatest comics, launched his comedy career in New York City at The Improv Comedy Club. His breakthrough film role came courtesy of Spike Lee in the classic “Do the Right Thing!”
Other film roles followed, including “House Party” and “Boomerang.” He soon captured the attention of producer Russell Simmons, who tapped Lawrence to host the groundbreaking HBO series “Def Comedy Jam.”
In 1992, Lawrence landed his own hit series “Martin.” The ratings juggernaut singlehandedly elevated Fox to a major contender against network TV stations. After the finale of “Martin,” Lawrence went on to star in a string of top-grossing films, including “Life” and the “Big Momma’s House” and “Bad Boys” franchises.
Lawrence starred alongside Will Smith in the highly anticipated “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” which became a hit after its June 7 launch. ParkMGM.MGMResorts.com

“Duran Duran is more than a hit-making powerhouse, they are an iconic household name that always brings the energy for an incredible show,” said Fontainebleau Las Vegas Senior Vice President of Entertainment Fedor Banuchi.
“We are thrilled to close out the year with them and welcome them into the family of legendary entertainers who have made BleauLive Theater the Strip’s premier destination for award-winning entertainment within our first year.”
Making their first appearance at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, Duran Duran is one of the world’s most popular and innovative pop-rock bands, with hits that span their rich and storied four-decade career.
Tickets to Duran Duran’s one-night-only performance went on sale on Friday, Nov. 1, at 10 a.m. PT and can be purchased online at FontainebleauLasVegas.com.
Duran Duran is lead singer Simon Le Bon, guitar/bassist John Taylor, keyboardist Nick Rhodes and drummer Roger Taylor, and their many hits include “Hungry Like the Wolf,” “Save a Prayer,” “Rio,” “Is There Something I Should Know?” “Union of the Snake” and “New Moon on Monday.”

Feelgood and football are often mutually exclusive terms. Players face myriad aches and pains after games. And then there are the gamblers who have rough days at the sportsbook. silver and
WELCOME TO THE LAS VEGAS RAIDERS, TOM BRADY
But “Heaven Can Wait,” an under-the-radar gem of a film, is a feelgood football movie. Warren Beatty portrays a quarterback who passes away prematurely but is allowed to come back to Earth and is placed into the body of the Los Angeles Rams owner who passes away. Beatty becomes the QB of the Rams and leads the team to a Super Bowl victory and falls in love with the sublime Julie Christie.
Tom Brady is now part owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, who will most likely look for a quarterback after the 2024 season. A Hollywood ending isn’t on the horizon; Brady will not line up behind center at Allegiant Stadium.
However, Brady hopes to help the Raiders move in another direction.
After noting that he’s humbled and excited about his new challenge via Instagram, Brady commented further on social media. “I’m eager to contribute to the organization in any way I can, honoring the Raiders’ rich tradition while finding every possible opportunity to improve our offering to fans … and, most importantly, win football games.”
The odds are that Brady will have an impact. Majority owner Mark Davis is understandably excited about having the quarterback, who thanks to unparalleled accomplishments is regarded as the greatest of all time.
“It’s an exciting day for the Raiders organization,” Davis said via news release. “Although Tom can’t play, I think he can help us select a quarterback in the future and potentially train him, as well.”
Now that would be unprecedented, but why not allow Brady help pick a signal caller in the 2025 draft? There will be several quarterbacks available when the Raiders pick in the first round. Why not let the quarterback of the future learn under Brady?
“I’m eager to contribute to the organization in any way I can, honoring the Raiders’ rich tradition while finding every possible opportunity to improve our offering to fans … and, most importantly, win football games.”
It wouldn’t be surprising that Brady has a say in off-season acquisitions. Brady was smart enough to take a salary cut to beef up the Patriots line. It would be best to fortify the line to help support the Raiders’ quarterback of the future.
The best owners delegate and let their presidents and GMs make decisions, but it will be curious what kind of impact Brady will have on the Silver and Black since he’s a winner. Brady won six Super Bowl rings with the New England Patriots and has a Super Bowl championship with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
So many potentially good quarterbacks were derailed after being physically and mentally crushed. Who knows how good David Carr and Tim Couch could have been?
No one knows more about how to succeed as an NFL quarterback than Brady. Adding him to the fold might be the wisest decision of the Mark Davis era.

LAVO
REOPENS AFTER REDESIGN AND WITH NEW MENU ITEMS
Lavo at The Palazzo reopened Sept. 30 with a refreshed design and enhanced menu, while Lavo Party Brunch season on Saturdays kicked off Oct. 19 and Endless Brunch on Sundays launched Oct. 20.
Conceptualized by Tao Group Hospitality Chief Culinary Officer
Ralph Scamardella, the menu at Lavo showcases Southern Italian cuisine with a coastal flair prepared with local ingredients to offer Italian cooking in the heart of Las Vegas and on the Las Vegas Strip.
The culinary offerings include antipasti and salads; brick oven pizzas made with whole grain, single-source flour; pasta made in-house alongside classic Italian entrees; and dry-aged steaks and chops.
“The Meatball,” a Lavo signature featuring 16 oz. of ground Imperial Wagyu, Italian sausage and veal served with marinara and whipped ricotta, returns as a menu highlight, and desserts round out the meal.
The beverage program features an extensive wine list and cocktails, with an emphasis on bright citrus flavors and crisp minerality to complement the Italian coastal cuisine. A tableside spritz cart offers the opportunity to enjoy a customized hand-crafted spritz, and specialty cocktails can be ordered zero-proof.
In two recent dinners, the evening included focaccia and crudités, fritto misto, caesar della casa, zuppa di mussels (new menu item), The Meatball, reginette seafood alfredo, pappardelle bolognese bianco, chicken parmigiana, 20-layer chocolate cake and the cocktails Lavo-Lini and Mint Condition.
Everything was great, from the new ambiance and service to the cuisine and cocktails. The standouts: The Meatball, caesar, seafood alfredo, chocolate cake and cocktails. Also new on the menu: the porterhouse and affogato.
Lavo’s new design is reminiscent of the Italian countryside. The Stripfront terrace is planted with lush olive, pomegranate and citrus trees, creating a picturesque retreat for dining al fresco.
The landscaping continues in the interior. Rich velvet with botanical motifs and leather accents complements the design, along with high velvet drapery. Venetian plaster walls are adorned with a custom mural, while white-washed brick adds a classic yet contemporary touch.
Custom light fixtures of Italian glass and gold flakes illuminate the space, and a blue marble bar and cocktail tables complete the look. Lavo is open for dinner 5 to 10:30 p.m. daily, party brunch is 1-6 p.m. Saturdays in season, and endless brunch is 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Sundays. Buon appetito!

Local Breweries Strike Gold at Great American Beer Festival
The Great American Beer Festival, the largest professional beer competition in the U.S., convened in Denver from Oct. 10-12, and 8,836 beers from 1,869 breweries and cideries from all 50 states, D.C. and Puerto Rico were entered.
There were 326 medals awarded to 273 breweries, and two of the medal winners are Southern Nevada breweries, with both earning a gold medal.
HUDL Brewing, located in The Arts District in Downtown Las Vegas, took gold in the Other Strong Beer category for its Soul of a Star, a 10% ABV wheat wine. HUDL Head Brewer Joe Cuozzo is no stranger to awards stages, as he previously medaled at GABF on four occasions and at the World Beer Cup three times.
Cuozzo said, “Our (brew) team is as strong as any I’ve been with, and we execute the HUDL brewing process to a T. We originally brewed this beer for the 2024 World Beer Cup, and although it didn’t medal, it made the final table. This beer is complex enough to last.” The other local gold medal winner was
CraftHaus Brewery, located in The Henderson Booze District. It medaled with its Czech Plz in the Kellerbier or Zwickelbier category.
CraftHaus Brewery co-owner Wyndee Forrest said, “To be awarded with a gold medal for Czech Plz, Czech Pilsner was such an honor. We strive to not only create consistent, quality-driven beer but also to make our fans proud to call CraftHaus their own.”
In this recurring feature, we spotlight establishments that appreciate our local breweries enough to serve only beer made in Nevada. One of the original businesses to open in The Container Park on Fremont St. in 2013 in DTLV, Bin 702 devotes its eight taps and a handful of cans to Nevada-brewed beers.
Bin 702 even has its own beer: the bestselling Bin Blonde Ale, a hop-forward refresher made by HUDL and Juxta Nomad. Taps rotate, and on a recent visit North 5th Flor de Mayo IPA, Las Vegas Brewing Co 1677 Stout, Lovelady 9th Island Pineapple Sour, CraftHaus Belgard Coffee Stout and Mojave Punk Lemonade Cider were pouring.
Manager Melissa Ashbaugh said the reason they support local is “it’s important for us to keep putting back into the community. Featuring local, we can get the freshest pour within the same week of being brewed.”
If you get hungry, Bin 702 has several varieties of montaditos (mini sandwiches filled with gourmet meats and cheeses), charcuterie and cheeses. Although the two-shipping container space is only 640 square feet, there is an outdoor patio perfect for al fresco dining.

Beer Zombies
11th
Anniversary Party
Chris Jacobs lent his artistic talents to his love of craft beer as his company’s logo over time merged into an image of a zombie’s face with a beard in the shape of a hop cone. In 2013, he created the Beer Zombies beer brand that today is hugely popular with three bottle shops, a production brewery and a line of beers distributed to 32 states and 20 countries.
On Dec. 13, the brand’s 11th anniversary will be celebrated with a party at Beer Zombies Brewery. The event from 5 p.m. to midnight will feature 11 collaboration beers with 11 renowned breweries from across the U.S. (all of which were brewed at Beer Zombies) available on draft and package, a guest beer from each collaborating brewery and four special beers available exclusively at the event.
Participating breweries are Juxta Nomad, Relentless Brewing, Seven Islands, Wort Wrangler, RAR, Wake Brewing, Solaris, Brainstorm, Seek, Xul and Orchestrated Minds. The free pay-as-you-go event will also include music and food trucks.

NEVADA SOUTHERN RAILWAY TRAIN RIDES IN BOULDER CITY offers
By Todd Schacherl
There’s a railroad in Boulder City that is open for rides, and there is a railroad museum and two steam locomotives on display, as well. The railroad is called the Nevada Southern Railway and runs along a portion of the tracks that went from Las Vegas to Hoover Dam during the construction of the dam. This rail line brought in the heavy equipment, machinery and supplies to build the dam. Recently the bridge over US I-11 was completed and now instead of stopping at Railroad Pass, the railroad crosses the freeway and stops at Paradise Hills before heading back to Boulder City. The ride is about 45 minutes out and back.
“turn around” but rather just goes in reverse.
Switching to the other side allows one to face forward on the outbound and inbound trips. The conductors are dressed in period-accurate uniforms, which only makes the experience more enjoyable. The conductors are super
The train consists of a converted boxcar that is open to the elements, two refurbished passenger cars and a dining car used for storytelling. The work done to refurbish the passenger cars is impeccable and makes one feel like they are stepping into a time machine.
The velvet seats that used to allow the seat backs to be adjusted depending on which direction the car was traveling now sit static, creating two seats facing each other. This is great when it’s not very crowded because when the train gets to the end of the line, it doesn’t
nice and more than willing to take group photos, so don’t hesitate to ask if they don’t ask you first.
If you have any questions about what rail travel was like, the conductors are a great source of information. The train runs most Saturdays and Sundays between January and November, as
well as select holidays. Trains leave the station at 10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. (not offered June-September due to the heat).
Prices are $12 each for adults and children ages 4-11 are $6 each. Children younger than 4 are free. Admission to the museum is just $2, and it is open 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily. It’s closed on state holidays. From Thanksgiving to Christmas, the railroad runs “The Santa Train,” and ticket prices are $12 per person for all ages.
Getting there is easy: Take US I-11 toward Boulder City and take the Boulder City exit. Turn left at Yucca
Street (look for the Taco Bell on the left), and the parking lot is just up the hill to the right. Free parking is available at the station. The address is 601 Yucca St., Boulder City, NV 89005.
