When You Need Care Fast

Without the ER Stress

“My kid’s fever shot up to 104 out of nowhere, and of course it’s after hours always is! Another trip to the ER Has anyone tried telehealth in situations like this? Is it actually helpful or just a waste of precious time when you’re freaking out?” – Tiffany H.

This is such a stressful yet common situation, and you're right, it always seems to happen after hours The short answer? Yes, telehealth can absolutely help in cases like this, and it can often prevent an unnecessary ER trip As a Family Nurse Practitioner and a mom, I know how overwhelming it feels when your child spikes a high fever out of nowhere. Through telehealth, we can quickly assess your child’s symptoms, talk through what’s going on, and help you decide what level of care is needed Many times, that might mean starting treatment right away, whether it’s a prescription for an infection or guidance on how to manage the fever at home One of the unique benefits of virtual care is that I get to see what’s actually happening in your home You can show me how you're checking their temperature, what medications you've already given, or even walk me through what you're noticing in real time. That kind of context helps me give more personalized advice, all without the stress of packing up and heading to a clinic. If it does end up being something more serious, I’ll help guide you to the right care But in many cases, telehealth gives parents the clarity and peace of mind they need without the added stress of an ER visit.

Tooth Fairy Day is Aug 22 It’s the perfect time to celebrate one of childhood’s most magical traditions, and a great reminder to start early with healthy dental habits Whether your little one has their first wiggly tooth or you’re preparing for future visits from the Tooth Fairy, now’s the time to get excited!

Starting

early with brushing, flossing, and fun tooth fairy traditions helps build a lifetime of smiles.

The Tooth Fairy is one of childhood’s most beloved visitors fluttering in quietly to exchange a lost tooth for a small surprise But behind the magic, parents admit it’s not always as seamless as it seems.

“I completely forgot one night,” said Olivia Oprenti, mom of three. “I had to say the Tooth Fairy must’ve had a wing injury and needed a day to recover That’s when I ordered a Tooth Fairy kit Now I’m ready every time!”

These kits, which include a lost tooth certificate, tiny envelope, reward chart, and even a pre-written fairy letter, have saved many a frazzled parent.

“I keep a kit in my bedside drawer,” said Carlos H., dad of two. “We missed a night and my daughter was devastated Now I have a backup plan with glitter and all.”

From handwritten notes in sparkly ink to tiny dollar bills tucked in miniature pillows, parents are finding ways to preserve the magic while giving themselves grace

The Tooth Fairy isn’t just about the money it’s about the memory And for the parents juggling long days, lost teeth, and bedtime chaos, a well-stocked kit can make all the difference in keeping the tradition alive (and believable!).
