Locals Unite AtSüpin Midtown Reno

Süp Restaurant opened its doors August 20th, 2007, and has had a line down the street during lunchtime ever since. Christian and Kasey Christensen’s tradition of "Soup Sunday" began as a weekly get-together for friends and family at their home. Their combined 40 years in restaurant service and ownership fed their desire to create a new and excitingly different dining experience in Reno. They set their focus on healthy homemade recipes made from scratch daily. Then added the freshest ingredients and great customer service.

Süp offers a much-needed service of high quality, fast service dining. Süp’s concept of gourmet healthy soups, sandwiches and salads is unique within the area, and allows them to be set apart from typical dining options. Patrons may dine-in or take-out their meals. The MidTown location also lends to the hip and sophisticated feel of their restaurant, combined with a delicious menu served until 9 pm Monday through Saturday, making Süp a part of the "MidTown scene.” And, Süp plans to continue to work with other local businesses and the City of Reno to improve the MidTown District and build an even stronger community that all can be proud of.

Süp works with local farms that supply them with locally grown herbs and produce. The River School Farm prides itself on growing food year-round in the high desert, urban environment. Using a variety of innovative growing techniques, they are able to produce a diverse mix of organic vegetables and herbs even in the coldest months. New Harvest Farm is an urban farm located in Reno near downtown and the scenic Truckee River. They specialize in growing pea shoots and sunflower shoots. Their products can be found year-round at the Great Basin Community Food Co-op and at many restaurants in the Reno/Sparks/ Tahoe region. And, DROPP which is a food hub, a department of The Great Basin Community Food Co-op. DROPP's mission is to promote the local food system and serve as a sustainable cooperative model for access to wholesome food in the community.

Süp is located at 669 S. Virginia Street in Midtown Reno. They are open Monday through Saturday, 11am-9pm. For more information, call (775) 324-4787 or visit them online at sup.restaurant.
