RETIREMENTS
The Vecellio Group extends best wishes to those who retired in the first half of 2023. Their many years of valued service are greatly appreciated!
James R. Absher
James Absher came to V&G in July 2021 after a long and fulfilling career in road construction. The company was fortunate enough to have James with us for the past two years as a Bulldozer Operator to share his knowledge and experience. We congratulate him on his retirement.
Alba R. Essenburg
Alba Essenburg (formerly Alba Padilla) began her career with White Rock Quarries in December 1997. She brought a wealth of credit management experience to the business, and grew invaluable relationships with both the sales team and customers to ensure all business terms were understood. Alba’s dedication and work ethic will be missed by all at WRQ.
Rodney L. Golden
In July 2006, Rodney Golden began working as a Shop Mechanic for Sharpe Bros. His skills allowed him to work on all types of equipment to make sure all machines performed safely in the field. All his coworkers wish him the best in his retirement.
Alfred L. Lacy
Alfred Lacy performed many duties during his time at Vecellio & Grogan. He was hired as a Laborer in 1985, and later promoted to Mechanic’s Helper.
Alfred was always willing to perform any task that needed to be done, and always did it well. He never met a stranger...just people he hadn’t become friends with. That is something his coworkers will miss most about him.
Arturo Pelaez
Originally hired in 1988, Arturo Pelaez took a break from service but returned to White Rock Quarries in 2016 as an Off-Highway Rear Dump Truck Driver. Arturo was a hard worker and will be missed by all as he begins his retirement.
Frederick E. Rumph
Fred Rumph worked for South Florida Petroleum Services for more than ten years, retiring as Person-In-Charge at the end of March. Fred’s work ethic and commitment to quality and safety will be missed by all.
Michael N. Scarborough
Mike Scarborough brought a blend of southern charm, humor, and sometimes surliness to his safety training. Mike genuinely cared for his fellow employees, and did what it took to keep them working safely.
He was a mentor, counselor, confidante and, when required, a thorn in the side of those he worked with. His dedication was unmatched, and he will truly be missed. As college football season begins, you will find Mike watching to see if his UGA Bulldogs will “three-peat” as National Champions.
Gary I. Todd, Jr.
Tad Todd was a retired Captain in the U.S. Coast Guard before joining Vecenergy. As General Manager of South Florida Petroleum Services (SFPS), he ran the business with professionalism and integrity for more than fifteen years.
Tad retired from SFPS in March after a smooth transition that ensured consistent business focus and direction. His personality and commitment to his team will be missed by all as he sails on to a peaceful retirement.
