Murray Logan Construction, a heavy and marine construction company founded in 1968 by Murray D. Logan, became part of the Vecellio Group in late October of 2021.

Company President David Logan always wanted to ensure the longterm success of both the business and his employees. Knowing the Vecellio family, and the organizational structure they already had in place for the future, David made a bold and strategic decision to join the Vecellio Group.

“Our experience, work ethic, and commitment to the customer are the most important common traits shared with the Vecellio Group” David Logan commented. “Those traits will help drive additional success and growth for both companies.”

“We are pleased to welcome Murray Logan into the Vecellio Group,” said Leo Vecellio, Jr. “The company’s high quality of work, along with a strong commitment to safety and outstanding customer service, fits perfectly with our culture. And its work in marine construction throughout Palm Beach County, Florida is a strong addition and a complement to our existing portfolio of services.”

The company has a broad portfolio of work throughout south-central Florida, including projects for both public and

1532212 private customers. Its first project as part of the Vecellio Group is a pump station at Avenir, a new 4,752-acre sustainable community located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The pump station, electrical building, and fuel platform are being constructed to control water overflow and redirect it to existing wetlands that sur round the new community. Avenir includes 3,900 new homes, a working farm, private golf course, and 300 acres of lakes and waterways.

Concrete forms are established (Top) prior to pouring 190 cubic yards of concrete for the walls of the pump station. Crews harness safely (Middle) as they move around the forms to continue pouring the pump station walls. Foundations for the electrical building and fuel tank are poured (Bottom) to finalize concrete work.

Rising Costs Must Never Lead to Cutting Corners

We have all felt the increased cost of living driven by the global economy, and our business faces the same challenges we face at home. We must continue to manage cost while delivering on daily commitments to customers and employees. While it is critical to identify and control costs, it should never be done at the risk of reducing service quality or employee safety. If an employee gets hurt on the job, there are many costs to the business. But the biggest cost is the loss of the employee on the job and the negative emotional impact to that individual and their family. That is why the safety of our employees always comes first.

We would rather increase our price to the customer when the economy demands it, than sacrifice safety to try and balance the increasing costs of doing business. Our customers expect that. And no short cut is worth the risk to our employees, our business, or our customers. The key is to always ensure we are considering potential
