HB582/SB939 (Conference Bill) Removes the ban on collective bargaining for school board employees after a passage of an ordinance or resolution by the local government body. HB365/SB98 Removes the school board option of a 5-year probation for teachers. Restores probation to 3 years. HB570/SB167 Removes the use of one unsatisfactory evaluation as a reason to fire a teacher. HB257/SB729 Removes the zero tolerance, mandatory reporting of some minor offenses to law enforcement. Establishes principal discretion in these cases. SB377 Restores the three-person panel as an option in dismissal cases. HB395/SB7 Raises the minimum wage in Virginia. HB1344 Technical clean-up to the VEA’s reprimand bill from 2019.
