This house, designed by eminent architect James Jamison and completed in the 1920’s, was built as a weekend lodge for hunting and horse competitions and is truly one of the most historic and unique homes in Ladue. Built and operated its first few decades by the owners of what became International Shoe, it gained popularity during prohibition in the 1920’s as a bar room was added and stocked from tunnels hidden beneath the house. In the 1990’s Randall McDonnell returned the horses and parties to the estate. The Gueck’s have painstakingly and lovingly restored this home to its splendor today. Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School and the Bonne Chance Auction Committee invite you to participate in our 2017 Children’s Challenge.
This year, an anonymous family from the Class of 2018 has made a leadership donation of $75,000 as a challenge to our School community. Help us match this dollar for dollar to advance our mission through Goal IV: the building of community as a Christian value. This year, the funds raised will be used to make renovations to the lobby and lounge of Kenefick Gym, as well as support a portion of the daily operations of the School.
This renovated space will highlight all that we have to celebrate at Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School, and make it a true welcome center for the thousands of individuals who gather under this roof each year.
Our goal is to raise funds to match this Challenge of $75,000, and even exceed this initial matching gift, so that we may unlock the potential for additional renovations to this space. Please raise your paddle and join us in this exciting endeavor!

You and your guests will love this personal guided tour of various exterior and interior doors around the Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill campus. This walking tour with wine will share historical photos of the school as well as the transformations of the campus over the decades.
