Improved WASH service delivery to communities and schools

Majiprenuer Summit: a three-day summit was organized focused on Shaping the ecosystem, Navigating opportunities, and Building resilient WASH enterprises in Uganda

Conducting ULA TOT trainings for the WHH/VCA One WASH program in 8 primary schools in West Nile and Karamoja regions

9079 girls and 8228 boys were impacted directly and indirectly by accessing WASH education

Anticipate engaging discussions with WASH sector experts on SDG 6 progress and merging civic and creative spaces for better sustainable WASH services

MAJIPRENEURS SUMMIT

Viva con Agua together with her partners (WASEU, CEWAS, and Young Water Solutions) under the Majipreneurs alliance collaborated to host the Majipreneurs Summit 2024

This aimed at bridging the gap between entrepreneurs, investors, development partners, and policymakers to create a supportive space and common mission to build an ecosystem for sustainable Water and Sanitation initiatives.

ALL 4 WASH IN SCHOOLS PROGRAM

Through an innovative blend of Football for WASH, Dance for WASH, and Art for WASH activities, alongside crucial WASH facility construction, the All 4 WASH in schools program fosters sustainable access to clean and safe WASH services

9079 girls and 8228 boys were impacted directly and indirectly by accessing WASH education Some of the schools engaged include Kasangati Muslim Primary School, Namungona Orthodox P S, and Sir Apollo Kaggwa School: Key examples of successful WASH facility construction and community engagement

2 hand cleans and 03 water filters were provided to each school, and these include Mende Kalema Memorial p/s, Gombe Kayunga p/s, and Kyebando UMEA P/s

WORLD MENSTRUAL HYGIENE MANAGEMENT CELEBRATIONS

Viva con Agua Uganda joined the rest of the world to celebrate MHM Day at Gombe Kayunga Primary School and St Pius Naddangira P/S where children showcased poems and drama plays with knowledge of MHM.

The involvement of boys in MHM activities has boosted their knowledge of how to become hygiene champions in schools Girls were supported with MHM kits which included a bucket, reusable pads, knickers, hang pegs, MHM bags, washing, and bathing soap

GLOBAL WASH PROGRAM

Viva con Agua Uganda and her partners disseminated feedback mechanisms using ULA through drama and music which were all composed by the local heroes to 4 town councils and 2 subcounties The team participated in a joint monitoring of Water sources in Nombe S/C and Karugutu Town Council

NETWORKING EVENTS (VIVA AND CHILL)

Two events were conducted to support VcA Uganda in strengthening its networks In collaboration with UWASNET, a networking event was held at Royal Suites Bugolobi with Country Directors of WASH organizations in Uganda which enhanced collaboration and coordination
