Welcome to the spring 2025 seasonal guide to Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation, which includes the return of our spring special events including the Cherry Blossom Festival and Earth Week (because Earth Day should be everyday!), plus the comeback of our celebration of Native American culture now called the Rising Sun Pow Wow. JAPANESE GARDEN TOUR
Inspired by the 50 plus years of friendship, the Japanese Garden at Red Wing Park encompasses the cultural exchange between Miyazaki, Japan and Virginia Beach. During the Cherry Blossom Festival, join us for a tour and learn more about the garden and the Sister CIty relationship.

TRANQUIL TRAILS
Take some time for yourself and unwind in nature with this four-day series. Each session combines gentle practices like tai chi, yoga, and meditation with guided forest bathing and nature walks. This program often includes a ~1 mile hike on soft, uneven trails. Fully enclosed shoes are required, and long pants are recommended.

A safe and fun introduction to the water for children ages 1-2 to share with a participating adult guardian.

Climb to the top of the mountain with our Parks & Rec staff and discover how and why the mountain was created and the important ecological role that it plays for Virginia Beach and the Chesapeake Bay. POWER WHEELS DERBY
