LETTER FROM THE ViLLAGE PRESiDENT
Did you hear the news? BG has once again been ranked as one of the best places to live in Illinois (#2) and America (#63). With rankings based on factors such as overall happiness, comes as no surprise.
As summer kicks into high gear, there’s no shortage of activity here. While most of the activity is exciting, some of it is a bit dusty and noisy, yet all of it is a sign of progress in our vibrant community. From packed event calendars to ongoing corner of town.
Once again it’s construction season, and whether you’ve been navigating around long-term vision to make BG an even better place to live, work, and visit. I appreciate your patience as we pave the way for the future.

I recently hosted a President’s Pick engagement event at Lazy Dog, and we had an incredible crowd. All who attended were eager to learn about development activity, asking thoughtful questions about other sites and corridors around town. It’s been truly extraordinary to see our community transform in recent years, and the Lake Cook Corridor is a prime example. I encourage everyone to get out, explore, and support the new businesses calling BG home.
At the same time, our community’s summer events are in full swing, and they’re outdoor amphitheater at Mike Rylko Community Park, plus they’ve improved the ever-popular Spray ’n Play. Be sure to visit our community events calendar at vbg.org/calendar to explore everything happening around town. From concerts and farmers’ markets to festivals and family fun, there’s something for everyone. Our calendar is made up of events posted by local organizations, so please help us spread the word!
I hope to see you out and about—maybe on a Sunday at the Farmers’ Market, at BG Days, at a neighborhood event, or even at the next President’s Pick in August. Summer is short, so let’s make the most of it together.
Eric Smith

Let’s Create a Unique Space: Get Involved with the Clove Park Design

Construction of the “The Clove” (former Town Center) continues. And right in the heart of the development will be a central gathering space for the community: The Clove Park. The park hasn’t been designed yet, and to ensure the design is reflective of our community’s vision, we want as much input from residents as possible. There will be many opportunities for engagement and surveys in the coming weeks. Learn about the design process, timeline, and how to get involved at vbg.org/ClovePark.
In other news on the site, the mixed-use residential building, “The 250,” has completed all residential units, and its first floor is ready for its future commercial tenants to build out spaces.
Buffalo Grove resident/business
Just across from The 250, First Watch plans to open a breakfast, brunch, and lunch sit-down restaurant. First Watch will be located on the north side of the future park, with its patio spilling into the park. We will continue to share announcements when other tenants are confirmed across the site.
