THE SMEG COMPANY Smalterie Metallurgiche Emiliane Guastalla 1948: founded by Vittorio Bertazzoni as an enamelling and metalworking company
1970: production of “Niagara”
1956: production of “Elizabeth”
1977: Franco Maria Ricci, Italian graphic designer, creates the Smeg logo
1960: the production of washing appliances begins 1950: in addition to metalworking, the first household appliances for cooking are produced
1971: production of hobs and ovens
1990- 1999: production of FAB sinks and refrigerators
2020: the company has 19 branches all over the world
2019: Smeg takes over a historic coffee machine company (La Pavoni)

THE FAB FRIDGE Frigorifero d’ Arredamento Bombato - a timeless testimony to elegance - an explosive force of colour and freedom of forms - developed in 1997 at the Smeg offices in Guastalla - designed by Guido Canali - inspired by the iconic American refrigerators - bright colors, typical of the 50’s - rounded and minimal shapes
