Using their research on memories of residents' childhoods, folk tales, superstitions, and myths to guide them, the Karoo Kaarte team created a magical storybook that appealed to young and old. A team of local writers and visual artists developed, wrote, illustrated, and wove together the ordinary and extraordinary, the real and the imaginary, into an anthology of short stories, poems, excerpts, and more.
Spekskiet en tandetel was launched on April 3rd, 2023, at the Karoo Kaarte project space, where participants read excerpts from the book and signed copies. The storybook was sold at the project space and after each performance of the project's theatre production, Droomkraan Kronieke.
