Idée Fixe is a new Blanc de Blancs house located in the south of Margaret River. It is birthed out of Vasse Felix, where sparkling winemaking has been a quiet obsession since 1985. The vineyards of Idée Fixe are located in the region’s deep south, where they are exposed to the biting cold winds of the Southern Ocean. The story began in the southern-
most Karridale Vineyard, a site of pale loamy sands over a unique quartz base, which experiences surprisingly cloudy and humid conditions. Chardonnay from the vineyard’s ‘D Block’ was unusual; delicate in fruit power, high in natural acidity, and a mysterious clonal selection. It proved ideal for making a distinct Margaret River Blanc de Blancs, our idée fixe.

Idée Fixe is made méthode traditionnelle, with its secondary fermentation and extended ageing on lees completed in bottle. The Idée Fixe winery is a dedicated site that is fullyequipped, and one of only a handful of its kind in Australia. The in-house facilities allow for complete control over pressing, fermentation, tirage, secondary ferment, bottle ageing,
riddling, disgorgement and labelling. The finest equipment has been selected to deliver the ultimate in quality. Idée Fixe Winemaker Mick Langridge brings several decades of Margaret River experience, with many of these completed at Vasse Felix, where he focused on the Estate’s Chardonnay program, and spearheaded the development of the Blanc de
Blancs since 2012. This heritage brings a highly specialised ability to craft expressive and outstanding Chardonnay base material. At Idée Fixe, Mick and his focused team are tasked with designing and delivering the méthode traditionnelle program to ensure every bottle of Blanc de Blancs is nurtured sensitively, with masterful precision, for your enjoyment.

An elegant, expressive and distinct Margaret River Blanc de Blancs, crafted from house-grown, handpicked, free-run cuvée Chardonnay. It celebrates the fruit’s natural personality through the conscious direction to make a base Chardonnay of integrity, accentuated with méthode traditionnelle bubbles. The unmistakable DNA of southern Margaret River and its cool, coastal influence runs through the core, defined by the fine bead, refreshing mousse and notes of struck match, sea spray, coastal rosemary and zesty fruit. The palate is delicate with citrus-infused acidity, ethereal minerality and moreish saline finish. 100% Chardonnay. 24+ months on lees.

BRUT ROSÉ
The curious sibling of the Premier Brut, this Brut Rosé is crafted from estate-grown Chardonnay, with a small portion of Pinot Noir. It is an irresistible Rosé of pale salmon hues and a fine, energetic bead. The vibrant bouquet of exotic fruit, light malt and delicate almond biscotti are endlessly captivating. Brut Rosé dances along the palate with accents of bright citrus, raspberries and pink peppercorn, espoused by a confident, refined mousse. A touch of zest and subtle French oak completes the refreshingly poised finish. 16+ months on lees.
