SEPTEMBER arrives with a gentle change in the air. Slowly, the rains will begin to set in, bringing cooler days, greener landscapes and that very special beauty Pondicherry takes on during the monsoon. And as always, there is plenty to discover, revisit and celebrate.

I

n this issue, we travel a little beyond our shores to explore the magnificent Jaffna Fort, a landmark that has witnessed centuries of Portuguese, Dutch and British history and remains an extraordinary symbol of heritage and resilience.

Back home, one of Pondicherry’s much-loved landmarks welcomes visitors once again. The Old Lighthouse on Beach Road has reopened, offering not only a glimpse into the city’s maritime past but also spectacular views across the town and the Bay of Bengal.

September is also a month of celebration. Ganesh Chaturthi brings colour, devotion and togetherness to our streets and neighbourhoods, reminding us of traditions that continue to evolve, including the growing move towards more environmentally conscious celebrations.
