selling for R3-million at the 2011 National Yearling Sale. The mating of the Champion 3yo Classic Filly Promisefrommyheart, to the Champion Sire Jet Master proved to be a major attraction, and ultimately was the highest priced colt on the sale. Purchased by the relatively unknown Mr Andrew Papageorgiou, who had come from the depths of Africa to buy this horse, with the pedigree page covered with yellow highlights - and nothing noted on any other pedigree. He spent hours just looking at him over the stable door. After the sale, he went into training with master-conditioner Dennis Drier. Injured early, Master Of My Fate only started racing as a late 3yo and finished 2nd first time out at Clairwood over 1200m. 12 lengths which included the G2 Premier Trophy and the G2 Peninsula Handicap. At his final and 8th start, he ran 5th in the G1 J&B Met where he was hampered and cut into 3 times during the race.
