34 167 one of the very first colleges to offer cartooning as a major, is considered the vanguard of this discipline and by some even “the Harvard of Cartooning.” While studying, a cartoonist’s goal is to find a clear path to storytelling by focusing on their artistic voice and ideas. You will develop a portfolio that reflects your vision, style, abilities and talent, effectively introducing you to the fascinating and diverse comics industry. Graphic novels, autobiographical, superhero, underground comics, Amerimanga, in print or online, you will master plot development, building dramatic narrative tension and breaking down the sequential action of your stories. Molly Ostertag

Molly Ostertag is a graphic novelist and illustrator, an Ignatz and Prism Award winner, a 30 Under 30 Forbes honoree for media, and a writer for children’s TV animation. Her most recent book, TheGirl from the Sea, debuted as a #1 Young Adult bestseller in 2021. Her middle-grade graphic novel debut, The Witch Boy, is being adapted into a feature film by Netflix.
