THAT ’ S A WRAP...On Smoking

Smoking on screen has been a contentious fixture in TV and film for decades. With so many characters being renowned for the nasty habit, it’s hard to imagine these ‘iconic’ smokers without a cigarette in hand.

Despite the glamourisation of smoking remaining prevalent in modern cinema, it’s important to note that vaping is now starting to surface onto the silver screen and with this change comes an influx of opportunity. What would these characters look like without a lighter at the ready and a cigarette in mouth? Without further ado, here is a concise catalogue of tobacco-ridden characters reimagined as vaping pundits.

Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s

It’s difficult to picture Aubrey Hepburn as Holly in ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ (1961) without the renowned cigarette holder she so adores throughout the film…

But thrust her into the 21st century, and it comes without question that the fashion mogul would indulge in a sleek e-cigarette with hoards of champagneflavour e-liquids tucked away in a designer purse.

Champagne for breakfast, lunch and dinner all nicely wrapped in a Tiffany hued blue e-cigarette could be nothing short of a dream for this luxuriously lavish protagonist.

Mia Wallace in Pulp Fiction

Continuing with films from the roaring 90s, we have Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Pulp Fiction’ (1994), where the glorious Uma Thurman graced us with her breakthrough role as Mia Wallace.

A replacement for the fictitious cigarette brand ‘Red Apple’ that Mia smokes throughout the film, what better fit could there be for this feisty character than a red apple box mod?

Although a direct contradiction to her ‘don’t be a square’ outlook on life, a box mod is a perfect exception to this rule, allowing her to leave the cigarettes behind and prioritise winning dance-offs.

Henry Hill in Goodfellas

In an entirely different ballpark to the elegant Holly Golightly, we have eminent gangster and avid smoker Henry Hill in Goodfellas (1990).

In lieu of a champagne e-liquid for Holly, and in line with Henry’s mafioso way of living, a red wine e-liquid would act as a perfect replacement for his rigorous consumption of alcohol and tobacco.

Perhaps it would be just enough of an abnormal vaping experience that living ‘like a schnook’ would not feel like such a boring fate for the American mobster.

Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders

It would be hard to sit here and assign anything other than a tobacco flavoured cigalike to the former gangster turned member of parliament, Tommy Shelby.

There is a running gag implemented throughout the series by the showrunners that Tommy is never once seen eating, heavily implying that the Brummie businessman only survives on his trusted cigarettes.

A tobacco flavoured disposable would not only provide a similar experience but would actually be a much healthier alternative for the stone-faced top boy of the ‘Peaky Blinders’.

Fleabag in Fleabag

Although this nameless protagonist is prone to blasphemous relations with a man of God, it goes without saying that a ‘holy water’ flavour probably isn’t on the cards for ‘Fleabag’.

Instead, considering her job in a guinea-pig café, a coffee flavoured disposable would be ideal. After all, who has the time to refill an open pod system when seducing a priest is your top priority?

It goes without saying that her uptight sister and unbearable godmother would have more respect for this ill-mannered protagonist if, for once, she made healthier life choices.

In what ways do you think Juice Sauz has adapted to the industry’s demands since its conception in 2015?

“Through continuously adapting and innovating, we have positioned ourselves as a dynamic player in the industry.

Since its inception in 2015, through strategic partnerships, acquisitions and expansion of its retail division - 888vapour - Juice Sauz has effectively adapted to demands.

By collaborating with other companies, we can access new technologies, expand our market reach and enhance product development capabilities.

The acquisition of ‘The Yorkshire Vapour’ brand demonstrates Juice Sauz’s commitment to expanding its product portfolio and catering to a wider customer base.”

Which Juice Sauz products are you most proud of and are there any particular favourites amongst customers?

“The ‘GLACIER’ and ‘MANGO PASSION’ flavours within the SALT product line have emerged as favourites among customers worldwide.

We are also thrilled with the recent launch of our newest brand across 47 countries - ‘Drifter Bar’ - which encompasses both the Drifter Bar Salts and Bar Juice.

The overwhelming feedback received from customers has been truly incredible, and we would like to extend a massive thank you for the continuous support.”

Juice Sauz are keen to attend trade shows throughout the year, in what ways do you think these shows have helped with the success of your brand?

“Through participating in trade shows worldwide, Juice Sauz has increased its exposure and brand visibility. Providing a platform for our products has captured the attention of industry professionals, distributors and potential customers.

Our focus is on showcasing the quality and uniqueness of our brand by not using extravagant displays, which allows the products to speak for themselves. This approach has proven effective in creating a lasting impression when building meaningful connections and partnerships as well as leading to collaborations, distribution agreements, and strategic alliances.

Engaging with visitors at trade shows has helped us to gather first-hand feedback, opinions, and preferences directly from industry professionals and customers.”

What has been Juice Sauz’s biggest challenge so far on its journey to becoming one of the leading e-liquid manufacturers and distributors in the UK?

“Managing the supply chain effectively has been one of the major challenges that we have encountered on our journey.

To overcome this, we have established strong relationships with external suppliers.

Recognising the critical dependence of supply chains for seamless manufacturing and nationwide customer support, we have implemented a robust management strategy.

A key aspect of this involves efficiently handling a substantial inventory of four to five million bottles on-site in the UK.

We have devised meticulous systems for organising and monitoring our bottle inventory such as optimising warehouse facilities to ensure precise stock counts and efficient retrieval as needed.”

Has Juice Sauz got anything in the pipeline that consumers can look forward to?

“We are dedicated to innovation as well as staying at the forefront of the industry and while we can’t disclose specific details, we can confirm that the company has an exciting topsecret project underway.

Rest assured; consumers can look forward to future developments.”
