Freshers’ Day

Marilyn reports on... the Ramsbury Freshers’ Day
On Saturday April 23rd, with Covid restrictions lifted, Ramsbury was able to hold another Freshers’ Day in Ramsbury Memorial Hall. All the local clubs and organisations came together to present what is on offer to the village and the surrounding area. It was a huge success, and a great opportunity for networking between organisations.

The 34 Groups that exhibited were, Treloar,
Recreation Centre, Tennis Club, Netball Club, Football Club, Cricket Club, Bowls Club, Memorial Hall, RAGS, Whitton Ways, Parish Council, Parish Charities, Foresters, Link, Silver Band, Allotments, Horticultural Society, WI, Scouts, Luncheon Club, The Ravensbury Players, Bell Ringers, Pre school/Lambs, Flyer, Village Diary, North Wessex Downs, Friends of Holy Cross, Church, Bella Voce Choir, Home Start, The Roxy, Painting Group, Knitting Group, Allotments and Ramsbury Royal British Legion.
What an amazing village! From fundraising to entertainment, hobbies and interests there is so much on offer for the residents
to participate in and enjoy.
In the evening the Parish Council kindly hosted a drinks reception by way of thanking the volunteers who make all of the above possible. Parish Council Chair Sheila Glass thanked everyone for their time given to the running of the various organisations commenting that without the commitment of volunteers none of this would be possible. Sheila and the Parish Council were thanked for all their hard work that is much appreciated.
