DOES AFRICA HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF WINNING THE WORLD CUP WITH MORE TEAMS IN THE SHOWPIECE?

The question is: Does Africa Have A Better Chance Of Winning The World Cup With More Countries In The Showpiece?

As it has been confirmed that the FIFA world CUP will have more teams than before, and Africa has been given more spots to add more teams, the excitement cannot really be that high because that does not guarantee that for the first time ever, an African nation will lift the world cup

We can find some comfort in the fact that Africa just completed one of the most successful AFCON tournaments ever showcased This AFCON left the world stunned, it left coaches in Europe pointing out the faults that the all Powerful continent of Europe has, and Africa got them right.

Even though the tournament was almost given a bad name by Moroccan media, which I say needs to be sat down and told that they are not entitled to everything football in Africa, they are participants just like every nation The Moroccan media was painting CAF president Patrice Motsepe as a bad influence to officials by attending every South African match, not pointing out that president Motsepe attended almost every match at AFCON, and not only South African matches, which now begs the question If he was influencing officials, can they prove who he was supporting at all these other matches he attended?

Leaving that behind, we are now looking forward to seeing how Africa will navigate the qualification process set out by CAF, and to see what a strong African representation can do for Africa at the world cup when we have more than five teams in the showpiece

BAL Back For Season 4

BAL BACK FOR SEASON 4

For the past few years, basketball ball in South Africa has been on a rise as we see more people embrace this high energy sport Many people have stopped this tendency of associating basketball with hip hop only.

With South Africa embracing basketball, and even participating in the BAL African tournament, we are now seeing more people talking about it, more people pushing the sport; and yes we cannot say it is at the level of Rugby, cricket or even football in terms of support, but with big names backing it, we are definitely going to see a basketball lifestyle come to life in South Ah.

When we speak about big names supporting the sport, we see the global brand "Hennessy" standing firmly behind basketball With such strong support from a brand like Hennessy, we have seen, especially in South Africa some amazing events hosted in the name of basketball

Late 2023 saw Hennessy and NBA launch a new court in the heart of Johannesburg's youth life, Braamfontein", and it was not a disappointment as we saw people come show their love for basketball

Now with the BAL kicking off in Pretoria, South Africa on the 9th of March, we are definitely looking forward to a high paced season south Africa is being represented by the Cape Town Tigers, we know very well that Pretoria will be behind the tigers like they were born and bred in Pitori

From the first conference of the BAL being in South Africa, the road then leads to Senegal and Egypt for the second and third conference, with the ultimate stop being Rwanda. What I can say is that we look forward to seeing the Cape Town Tigers in Rwanda lifting the championship and bringing it back to a country filled with a bunch of winners!

Here is how the fixtures for the first conference are looking.

FORMULA 1 RETURNS

Formula 1 is back, and the adrenaline is pumping as we saw the testing week already bringing some drama in Bahrain

The top team for the past few years, Red Bull Racing is one of the teams that people are watching closely this season to see what direction they will be taking leading up to the next season, more especially now that one of the most successful drivers of all time is confirmed to be joining the most successful team of all time Yes Lewis went red

With his last season at Mercedes Benz, Lewis Hamilton showed up at the testing weekend and put that car through it paces We would not be surprised if Hamilton pulls off a final championship season with Mercedes Benz just to say "here's my parting gift"

Hamilton did tell F1 news agents that leaving Mercedes Benz was not really a difficult decision. Many people wanted to see him behind the wheel of Red Bull Racing, but it feels poetic that he signed with Ferrari a full season before his contract ends with Mercedes Benz, meaning we are still going to see that Hamilton/Verstappen rivalry.

Now when we go back to the testing week and Red Bull Racing. We saw perez losing power in one of his testing laps, forcing him to cruise to the pit lane and have that problem fixed. Now does this glitch give us an indication of how this season will play out for the champion constructors, or was just a small fish trying to swim in a big pond
