Computer Science & Mathematics
Students are inquisitive, logical, creative problem-solvers, comfortable with math and sciences, perseverant, work well alone and in teams. Vanier College is the only English language Cegep on the Island of Montreal to offer this science program ideally suited to students who intend to pursue university studies in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or any computer science related program, as well as most engineering programs.

The curriculum includes four mathematics courses with a program-specific fourth semester course in Discrete Mathematics. There are four programming courses over the length of the program.
This program is an exciting opportunity for any high school student who is fascinated by computers but also wants the advantages of being in a pre-university Science program. What can I do after I graduate with a DCS in Computer Science and Mathematics?
In addition to traditional university programs open to all Pure and Applied Science graduates, Computer Science and Mathematics graduates will also have experience in software development which is an asset for university studies in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology fields, all engineering programs that do not require chemistry or biology, such as Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Aeronautical Engineering, as well as Actuarial studies, Mathematics, and Game Development.
HOW DO I GET IN?
Admission to the College is on the basis of the Quebec Secondary School Diploma (Diplôme d’études secondaires); or the Québec Diploma of Vocational Education (Diplôme d’études professionnelles) with Secondary 5 first & second languages as well as Secondary 4 Mathematics; or equivalent schooling completed outside the province.
