The Netherlands’ Otten caravan was quite the ride back in the 1950s! Now a real enthusiast’s caravan, they were one of the first Dutch-made caravans. The Sunliner was Australia’s first lightweight fibreglass van, and its distinctive shape is used as the universal caravan symbol on Australian road signs. Don’t they look pretty in pink!

The American Airstream is probably the most iconic caravan of all time. This ‘silver bullet’ is now recognised as a retro icon, and is most definitely here to stay. Crusader Caravans were born in Otorohanga, New Zealand and were one of the only successful caravan exports from NZ to Australia in the 1960’s.
