POCKY MEDIUM Pocky, Oreos, Adobe Photoshop

DESCRIPTION “Pocky” is an experimental type made from over 10 packets of Pocky, a traditional Japanese coated biscuit snack for young children. While I was creating this piece, I had to be conscious of how the pocky had to be laid out in order to create a more visually appealing effect. I ended up stacking many layers of Pocky together to create a new typeface. Through this artwork, I hope to remind viewers of the joys of childhood and how easy it was to attain happiness as a child.

DESCRIPTION This poster is a deconstruction of the mandarin characters for "Relationships." I wanted to suggest the feeling of people drifting away from one another and growing apart.

史。位於住宅與商辦大樓林立的堂島區（Dojima），是 大 阪 的 商 業 重 鎮，也 因 此，1985 年 即 開 業 的 前 身 Ambient Dojima Hotel 經 常 可 見 名 流 紳 士 穿 梭 其 中，20 年間，經營權幾度易主，2006 年由日本知名餐 飲集團 SHINWA．OX 取得經營權後，大動作一改老舊 風貌與既定印象，使 DOJIMA HOTEL 搖身一變成為 大阪市最具名氣的設計旅館。

對映京都的古色古香，PIECE HOSTEL 極簡又極度現代的外觀或許稍嫌突 兀，卻能在開幕短短一年多裡，以提供親民的價格、享有超乎水準的住宿體 驗，吸引來自世界各地的眾多旅客選擇入住，台日混血的主理人 Nobuyuki Tabata 功不可沒。 年輕時曾先後居住過台北、洛杉磯、京都三地，在遠赴倫敦師習令他著迷不 已的建築後，八年多前回到故鄉京都，開設房地產開發公司 TAT Inc.，去年， 他正式將自己深受西方世界的影響，化作實際作品 PIECE HOSTEL。看似 麻雀雖小的簡易青年旅館，幕後其實是由一群專業人士集思廣益後的成果， 品牌規劃、建築、燈光、家具、平面 ...... 等不同設計，都是由各個領域中的專 業設計師以「Active Traveler」為概念，分工設計規劃後彙整而成，訴求讓 旅客能彼此結識進而交流，獲得其他京都旅館無法提供的旅遊體驗。

由於對於飯店領域不甚了解，SHINWA．OX 找來最初 替 CL ASKA Hotel 規 劃 定 位 的 中 村 貞 裕，為 重 生 的 DOJIMA HOTEL 規劃品牌走向，參考了數十間紐約精 品旅館後，最終選定以集舒適、簡約於一身的正宗現代 （Authentic Modern）作為風格，之後，更陸續找尋其 他與大阪有淵源的設計團隊，針對室內、平面、家具等 設計參與改造，用心程度可見一斑。

EATAID MEDIUM Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop DESCRIPTION “Eat Aid” is an app which aims to assist recovery from body dysmorphic disorders and to improve eating habits. Through “Eat Aid,” individuals suffering from disorders are able to 1) track their eating habits 2) make full meal and workout plans according to personalized needs 3) identify triggers 4) seek out additional mental health resources.

ENCHANTRESS MEDIUM Watercolor, Metalic Paint, Colored Pencil, Adobe Photoshop DESCRIPTION Enchantress” features a woman with long flowing locks of hair, which allude to waves of the ocean with fish. My primary source of inspiration came from Greek painting of Sirens, creatures who lured sailors into the depths of the ocean with their singing voices. I wanted to capture the mystical, regal mood of those paintings while replicating the primarily orange and blue color palettes within them.

JOURNEY MEDIUM Watercolor, Charcoal, Acrylic Paint, Adobe Photoshop DESCRIPTION “Journey” is a mixed media piece about my first trip alone away from home. I depicted parts of my trip which I found the most memorable. The right half of the image depicts the beach which I sat by on the last day of my trip. I wanted to convey the vast, endless sense of the ocean, and how small people are in comparison. The center portion of the piece is the view outside the window of a taxi on the first day of my trip. Personally, the trip gave me a sense of clarity that I needed and I wanted to convey that feeling.
