8/27/14 at CORONA DEL MAR + biblical inspiration

CORONA DEL MAR, CA, AUGUST 27, 2014...waves were fairly big here, across the channel from the 45

wedge...some surfers were catching waves next to the jetty for long rides more than big rides...I even took a swim at little corona beach, despite being injured, ...the waves were not so big but there was a strong undertow & the lifeguards are so jumpy that I didn't want them to get scared thinking I was drifting out-ofcontrol away from the beach so I didn't stay in the water very long 46

welcome! photos of the wedge & Biblical inspiration

WELCOME! I WILL BE posting some photos from the infamous "Wedge" at Newport Beach taken after Hurricane Maria hit Mexico, causing big waves in southern California. The Wedge is a small section of newport beach near the harbor channel 107

where waves are extremely large at RARE times after storms such as this hurricane. I am not a local but I've heard they haven't been this big at the wedge for many years (some say they are "near record" waves... up to 25 feet, depending who you talk to ...)
