Apostle Paul Thessaloniki tour by SKG BUS. Our tour starts at 9:00 AM while picking you up from your hotel or AIRBNB anywhere at Thessaloniki city center. As our drive will take us about an hour to Apollonia, we make a quick stop for coffee and beverages. Plenty of commentary along the way and photo stops if required. We depart at Apollonia, a historical city, established at 5th century B.C, at Lake Volvi outskirts around 10:30 AM. We head to the Apostle Paul step, the same exact location where Paul preached Christianity to the locals. We proceed our tour to Derveni narrows and visit Apostle Paul monument. Both Apollonia and Derveni locations are near to Via Egnatia, the road that Paul took on his journey from Kavala to Thessaloniki. Plenty of photo stops at breath taking views. Our tour is really flexible and maybe altered as per your requirements. Round noon, we start our way back to Thessaloniki. Our next destination is Moni Vlatadon. The Vlatadon monastery is located just outside the northern walls of the Acropolis, a Patriarchal and stauropegic monastery, the only Byzantine monastery still providing services to the city. It was founded between 1351 and 1371 by monk Dorotheus Vlatis, a pupil of Gregorios Palamas, former Metropolite of Thessaloniki. The monastery stands by the city walls and according to tradition Apostle Paul passed from this exact spot on his way out from Thessaloniki. We enjoy the amazing city panorama and then proceed to the great Apostle Paul church at a close proximity. We may also get a traditional Greek cuisine lunch at nearby neighborhood. Drop off around 3:00 AM.
