2024 EMPLOYMENT REPORT

FRIENDS AND ASSOCIATES OF VANDERBILT BUSINESS:
I am excited to present the Vanderbilt Master of Marketing Class of 2024 Employment Report. This year marks the program’s eighth year, and we are thrilled to report remarkable employment outcomes once again. Despite the challenging job market conditions in the spring of 2024, an impressive 90% of job-seeking graduates secured positions within 6 months of graduation. Additionally, with 71 students, this is the largest cohort in the history of the Master of Marketing program, highlighting the growing interest and success of our program. This cohort also includes the largest international presence to date, with 23% of the class comprised of international students, dual citizens, and permanent residents.
Diverse Employment Outcomes: The Class of 2024 accepted offers in a wide range of industries, showcasing the versatility of their marketing expertise. While traditional marketing roles were prevalent, with many graduates heading into advertising, public relations, digital marketing, and general marketing, 43% of the class entered the media/entertainment industry, illustrating a strong pipeline into the agency space. Graduates also found opportunities in healthcare, consumer products, and technology, underscoring the diverse career paths available to our students. Notably, 56 employers recognized the talent of our graduates, further highlighting the broad appeal of their skills and knowledge.
Geographical Distribution: Our graduates pursued geographically diverse career destinations. About one-third of the class found opportunities in the Nashville Metro Area, while others ventured to major hubs such as Dallas/Forth Worth and New York City, among other locations. Furthermore, 49% of the class decided to continue their careers in the South, illustrating the compelling opportunities available in the region.
Alumni and Community Partners: We owe much of our success to our dedicated alumni and community partners. This year, a significant portion of accepted job offers (16%) came through alumni and faculty referrals, demonstrating the power of our robust and accessible network. Impressively, 41% of graduates leveraged their personal networks to land their roles, indicating their proactive engagement and excellent networking skills.
I am incredibly proud of the Vanderbilt Master of Marketing Class of 2024. Their persistence and consistent engagement with the Career Management Center led to their exceptional success. It is a privilege to support this program and witness the continuous achievements of our students. I look forward to our graduates’ future accomplishments and the legacy they continue to build for the Vanderbilt Master of Marketing program.
Sincerely,
