American Celebrates Sapulpa Community Theatre in Crisis Board members enlist the community’s help in keeping the long-standing local America theatre alive. American Heritage Bank continues tradition of celebrating Independence Day in Sapulpa. By Christopher Davis

In honor of Independence Day, American Heritage Bank presents the 18th annual fireworks show in Sapulpa on Friday, July 4. For most, July 4th tradition involves friends, family

and lots of food, capped off with a fireworks display. Folks in every town make an annual pilgrimage to their local fireworks show, toting blankets, coolers, snacks and a radio while contemplating the freedom that characterizes our nation. For Sapulpans, a trek toward the Municipal Golf Course will be rewarded with one of the finest shows in the region, thanks to American Heritage Bank.

Sapulpa Community Theatre, Inc. had its humble beginnings in 1978, and in 1989, six people shared the dream, backed a note to purchase the old Church of Christ, Scientist building at

nance continues to preserve the historic building. Sapulpa Community Theatre is run totally by volunteers and has some of the best – they take time away from their families, their businesses, their offices or work endeavors to help keep live performance theater in Sapulpa. SCT is a valuable community asset which all of Sapulpa and the surrounding area can take great pride in. Sapulpa Community Theatre is in the throes of a financial crisis. Operational and production costs have drastically outpaced box office, grant and donor income. Without a significant influx of funding, the theatre is in danger of closing its doors.
