Once you submit your deposit, you will then be able to register for FOCUS (our new-student orientation). Registration opens in March. Register for FOCUS online at valpo.edu/focus. View our financial aid offer video at youtube.com/ watch?v=DPZN8iop4Js. Your login information can be found in your financial aid packet.
Complete Your Math Placement Assessment
Assessments help determine at what level you begin instruction in that subject at Valpo. When you register for FOCUS, you will choose whether you would like to submit your SAT/ACT scores for your math placement or if you would like to take the placement exam. Students who submit SAT/ACT scores as part of the admission process are automatically assigned a math placement level. Students who did not submit SAT/ACT scores as part of the admission process, or who submitted scores and wish to try to raise their math placement level, need to take the math placement assessment. Complete your assessments online at valpo.edu/admission-aid/ admittedstudents/focus/placement-assessments/.
Complete Your World Language Placement
If you took a language in high school and wish to continue that language in college, complete your world language placement exam prior to your FOCUS session.
Make Your Room Selection and Housing Preferences
The Office of Residential Life will reach out to you prior to FOCUS so you can get started on who you will live with and where! Be sure to complete each step as quickly as possible so your Valpo journey is all ready to go before FOCUS!
