N i p u n Bhandari, resident of Alamo and a recent graduate from Monte Vista High School, was ranked third in the nation in t h e Se n a t e, a chamber of mock congress. Assemblywoman Joan The National Buchanan and Nipun Forensic League’s Bhandari 78th National Championship took place in Birmingham, Alabama, from June 15 through 19 this year. A total of 240 students participated in the event, representing over 100 leagues from all over the United States. Danville Concours d’ Elegance is back By Staff Writer
The 2009 Danville Concours d’Elegance marks the fifth year of this event, which is a 100 percent volunteerrun fundraiser dedicated to the fight on Parkinson’s disease. This year’s event, held on the streets of Danville, will take place on September 27. A dinner and live auction will be held the night before on September 26 at the Blackhawk Museum. This year’s guests include the winner of the 1985 Indianapolis 500, Danny Sullivan, as well as Derek and Alma Hill, son and widow of the late, great world Formula One champion Phil Hill.
