Welcome to the first edition of the Societe Generale Valley RFC Rugby Premiership Program for the 2022 / 2023 Nam Fung SEWIT Premiership Season The first of many planned programs that will pop up throughout our Premiership fixtures during the season.
Our Match Day programs this season will feature team sheets, fixtures lists, players and coaches introductions and Q&A's, Community team Spotlights and lots more with content varying week on week.
Released on a Friday evening, they will provide a taster of Valley Rugby this season.
Our teams have been busy preparing for weeks on end and are ready to go!

ELDEN SCHOEMAN
Elden joins the team this year from playing two seasons at Arka Gdynia in Poland. He has played in Hong Kong before as part of the Asia Pacific Barbarians at the Hong Kong 10’s. Originally from South Africa, Elden was heavily involved in the Varsity Cup with NWU Pukke, University of Stellenbosch and University of Pretoria

LAURENCE MAY
Laurence has relocated from the UK where he has spent the past several years cementing his name in the English Championship He has played over 120 games for London Scottish, Ealing Trailfinders, Chinnor RFC and Cornish Pirates where he amassed 599 points in 97 games The former Exeter Chief Academy representative will most certainly have an impact this season with the mighty Red and Black
LUKE VAN DER SMIT
You have not followed Hong Kong Rugby if you have not heard the of the powerful, Luke Van Der Smit, a famous face in the local rugby scene Luke formerly plied his trade with Sandy Bay RFC and the South China Tigers and is currently a member of the Mens National team
He is brute force to be dealt with on the pitch. Hailing from Namibia, Luke played for Western Province and the Eastern Province Kings in South Africa

My family have been a part of Valley, plus there's already such a nice family vibe within the club that makes you want to be a part of it
I think this season is super exciting for us to grow as a team and as people, whilst enjoying every moment we get. To be able to say we ' ve given it our best throughout the season no matter the results, will be the best outcome possible for us.
