EVENT SUMMARY Beaver Creek has long been considered one of North America’s premier winter resorts. Just a two-hour drive from Denver, the Beaver Creek and Avon mountain communities offer dining, shopping and outdoor festivities of the highest caliber with international appeal. Beaver Creek is home to the world renowned Birds of Prey racecourse and delivers an exceptional family friendly experience and a village that oozes European charm.

The Birds of Prey racecourse is the only location in North America to host multiple FIS Alpine Ski World Championship events; having played host in 1989, 1999 and 2015. The BOP races and overall event is ranked by the competing Athletes as one of the top events on the tour , year in and year out.

In addition to the excitement of World Cup racing, the America’s Winter Opening Festival provides an epic celebration of skiing and mountain lifestyle and the perfect setting to kick off the Winter Season. Live Music, a bustling sponsors village, ski films, public athlete events, fireworks, a beer garden and skiing and snowboarding combine to create a Winter Wonderland.
