Something to think about
At the moment there are five guidelines by which a player, who has breached his amateur status, may use to possibly have hi s amateur status restored (reinstated) . I heard an excellent argument last weekend that suggested our energies could be far better spent policing the players in the competition to ensure they are not playing for any gain, payment or other inducements compared to all the interviewing and checking that is required at the moment to see whether or not an applicant fits one of the guidelines . In other words let anyone who wants to Ex- Magpie Andrew play in the Amateurs in - regardless of iranquilli joined VFL background - and work hard to see that club Springvate so that could be reinstated they play with us as amateurs -"for the he to rei gning premier love of the game ONLY" .
