One of the most popular events is the University of Okoboji Couple’s Tournament, played at area links every September for more than 20 years among 3 courses. The reason? They’re beautiful!

EMERALD HILLS

When opened in 1970, 3,500 trees were planted, assuming many wouldn’t make it through the first winter—but they all did! Most still stand proud today, making this a defining feature of Emerald Hills. The site of multiple tournaments throughout the summer, Emerald Hills is fun for both novice and accomplished golfers.

BROOKS GOLF COURSE

With 27 holes, Brooks Golf Club is the area’s largest, offering three distinct 9-hole layouts to challenge both rookies and experienced golfers on the only bentgrass fairways in northwest Iowa. Located adjacent to Arrowwood Resort & Conference Center and AmericInn, Brooks has earned a 4-1/2 star rating by Golf Digest magazine.

OKOBOJI VIEW

Okoboji View has two signature holes: #7 is a par 3, 175 yard throw over water and a sand bunker; par 4 #16 is a 352 yard run where a water hazard from the tee brings you to an elevated green. Whether you are celebrating a great round or commiserating your golf sorrows, popular Pub 19 Bar & Grill offers great food with a beautiful view.

SPENCER GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB

A classic tree-lined 18-hole layout open to public golfers, the Spencer Golf & Country Club is host to the Northwest Amateur Golf Tournament, a four-day event begun in 1921. With an excellent on-site restaurant and well-stocked pro shop, Spencer Golf & Country Club is widely known for its friendly social environment.

REASON FOR PLAYING: APPRECIATED FOR ITS CONSISTENTLY MANICURED COURSE CONDITIONS, GOLFERS OFTEN COMMENT THIS IS THE FAVORITE COURSE THEY’VE EVER PLAYED.
