Welcome

from Supercars

Welcome to the DUNLOP Sydney 500, the season opening round of what shapes to be the most highly-anticipated Repco Supercars Championship in our history.

This is where the new rivalries, making of legends and their stories begin.

Fresh off a spectacular season launch and premiere of the behind the scenes Supercars: Road to Glory finals documentary — the excitement around Supercars has never been greater.

The Sydney 500 – including spectacular racing under lights – will never look or sound better, with the launch of our new commentary lineup and global, cuttingedge broadcast technology.

This weekend Chaz Mostert begins his first title defence as our new Champion. Chaz will face the fiercest challenge of his career, with the youngest and hungriest grid we’ve ever assembled intent on chasing him down.

Here in Sydney, the Toyota GR Supra Supercar arrives. Watching the Supra contend with the Ford Mustangs and Chevrolet Camaros shines a brighter, global

spotlight on our Championship.

The drama of the first-ever Repco Finals Series delivered record breaking crowds and viewership. That momentum carries directly into this weekend. Every session, from practice through each race, can prove the difference in making the top 10 cut.

That starts at Sydney Motorsport Park, with Free Fan Friday and our seasonopening 100km night race. Across Saturday and Sunday qualifying, Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootouts and two 200km sprint races will thrill fans.

On Saturday night Aussie icons JET will rock pit-straight with a concert for all ticket-holders.

With Supercars, the Dunlop Super 2 Series showcases our future champions, leading an action-packed support schedule.

To all our valued partners, including Dunlop, Destination NSW, Repco, our broadcasters KAYO Sports, Foxtel and 7 –plus the dedicated army of volunteers here this weekend – thank you.

Now, the stage is set - welcome to the Dunlop Sydney 500 and season 2026.

Welcome from Destination NSW

Welcome to Western Sydney for the Sydney 500, proudly supported the NSW Government’s tourism and events agency, Destination NSW.

The lights are on, night racing is back and there is no better place for motorsports fans than here at Sydney Motorsport Park to watch the stars of Supercars start their engines for another enthralling season of racing.

The Sydney 500 is one of the highlights on the NSW major events calendar, drawing motorsport fans from across Australia to experience one of the nation’s most unique sporting spectacles of night-time racing at a world-class motorsports facility.

Western Sydney is fast developing a reputation as a hub for major events and

unique experiences, with the Sydney 500 contributing to its vibrant sporting and cultural offerings. Importantly, it attracts thousands of fans, teams and officials, who stay and spend locally, supporting hundreds of jobs and turbocharging Australia’s fastest growing visitor economy.

With a diverse arts scene, picturesque parklands and numerous fine dining precincts all within proximity to the Sydney CBD and World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains, Western Sydney has become one of the nation’s must-visit destinations.

Enjoy the high-octane action of this event and take some time away from the track to explore the range of visitor experiences throughout Western Sydney waiting to be discovered at Sydney.com.

Welcome from Repco

Welcome to what is going to be one of the most wide-open Repco Supercars Championship seasons in recent history.

Repco enters its sixth season as the naming rights holder, which has seen a period of much change, highlighted by the Gen3 regulations implemented at the beginning of 2023, the all-new finals system last year, and in 2026, the emergence of a brand-new player.

When the Supercars grid lines up in Sydney, Toyota enters the fray with five Supras – the first time that the all-conquering Japanese brand will compete in Supercars.

On top of this, Triple Eight Race Engineering will return to the Ford camp, and a crop of fast young rookies will try to make their mark on the category.

Yeah ... there’s a lot to take in.

Reigning champion Chaz Mostert brings the #1 to Toyota, leading a five-strong contingent of the highly anticipated Supras, split between Walkinshaw TWG Racing and Brad Jones Racing. It’s a bold new world for Mostert and the Toyota tribe, but if we know one thing about Toyota, it won’t settle for being second-best for too long.

An expanded 14-round season begins under the bright lights at Sydney Motorsport Park and ends at the exciting bp Grand Final

in Adelaide.

The big change is that Supercars will race twice in New Zealand as part of a doubleheader, with Taupō joined by Ruapuna near Christchurch on the South Island.

These two New Zealand circuits join the likes of Hidden Valley, Wanneroo, The Bend and the prestigious Repco Bathurst 1000.

The on-track Supercars action is what we all come for, and at Repco, we’re always aiming to go over and above for our fans. Look out for more cool fan initiatives at the circuit, including our famous fleet of cars.

And while we focus on the future with Supercars, you’ll see Repco tip its hat during the year to Sir Jack Brabham, who 60 years ago, won the Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship. Powered by a Repcodeveloped engine, Brabham became the first and, likely, last driver to win the title in a car bearing their own name.

Trying to predict a title winner out of 25 of the best drivers from this part of the world is tough, and the Finals format makes it almost impossible!

On behalf of every Repco crew member, we’ll be watching the Supercars season along with you because we have petrol in our veins and we can’t wait to catch up with you all at the track!

Welcome from Dunlop Tyre Australia

On behalf of Dunlop Tyre Australia, I am thrilled to welcome all fans, teams, and officials to this year’s Repco Supercars Championship and the DUNLOP Super2 Series, where we proudly serve as the Naming Rights Partner for DUNLOP Sydney 500 and Control Tyre Partner. Motorsport has been at the very heart of DUNLOP Tyres’ heritage for over a century, and our longstanding partnership with Supercars reflects our ongoing commitment to innovation, performance, and delivering exceptional experiences to the passionate fans who bring this sport to life.

Over the years, DUNLOP has proudly supported countless drivers, teams, and events across the championship, helping to shape some of the most thrilling moments in Australian motorsport history. From nail-biting finishes to record-breaking performances, our tyres have been part of the journey that defines the excitement,

speed, and skill fans have come to expect. This weekend, as the cars roar around every circuit, we celebrate not only the competition on track but also the teamwork, dedication, and passion that make Supercars such a remarkable sporting spectacle.

We are also proud to continue supporting the DUNLOP Super2 Series, nurturing the next generation of talent and providing young drivers with the platform to develop their skills and showcase their determination.

Across every race weekend, from highspeed on-track action to engaging off-track fan experiences, unforgettable moments await. We sincerely thank all the drivers, teams, officials, and volunteers whose tireless dedication makes this incredible championship possible. To every fan in the grandstands, watching at home, or following online, we hope you enjoy an exciting, inspiring, and truly memorable season of world-class racing.

THE STAR FACTORY

If you seek a career in the Repco Supercars Championship, there is one clear stepping stone - the Dunlop Super2 Series.

Since the year 2000, the Dunlop Super2 Series has continued to be the perfect proving ground for aspiring Supercars racers.

Need proof of this?

For the first time ever, in 2026, all drivers competing full-time in the Repco Supercars Championship are graduates of the Super2 Series

The latest wave of fresh ‘main game’ drivers is impressive, and it starts with reigning series champion Rylan Gray, who has been enlisted at Shell V-Power Racing alongside Brodie Kostecki.

The 2024 champion, Zach Bates, has a fresh gig, too, with the Canberran signed on for Matt Stone Racing.

Jobe Stewart brings two seasons of Super2 driving to his new role at Erebus Motorsport, while Jackson Walls’ impressive winning performance at Queensland Raceway last year has seen him selected to race the Objective Racing Mustang out of the Triple Eight stable.

Declan Fraser, the 2022 Super2 victor, returns to the main game with PremiAir Racing, to be joined by fellow category graduate Jayden Ojeda.

Over time, the list of Series champions makes for impressive reading – from 2003 victor Mark Winterbottom, whose career included Bathurst 1000 and Supercars Championship crowns, to 2012 winner Scott McLaughlin, whose dominance of the local scene has seen him become a leading light in North American IndyCar competition.

Taking into consideration the raft of driver changes, the 2026 Super2 season is wide open for the taking.

Tickford Autosport swept all before them last season after locking out the top four places in the title.

This time around, the Melbourne squad has retained Nash Morris and Reuben Goodall, who will be joined by Campbell Logan and Ben Gomersall.

Brad Jones Racing is back, with Brad Vaughan looking to continue the form that saw him claim the season decider in Adelaide, partnered by Matt Hillyer.

Matt Stone Racing returns to the category with a bang, with Tommy Smith’s world tour of motorsport stopping at Super2, with Ayrton Hodson enlisted in a second Commodore.

Operating out of a satellite operation from MSR, Alice Buckley steps up in class after impressing in the junior ranks. Bathurst’s Anderson Motorsport returns with Ryan Tomsett and Zak Best, who will be looking to improve upon his trio of second-place finishes in the class dating back to 2021.

The Blanchard Racing Team is another to expand in 2026, with Bailey Sweeny joined by Logan Campbell.

Eggleston Motorsport will be back with a multi-car effort, featuring Cody Burcher, Elliot Cleary, and Bradi Owen, while rookie Hamish Fitzsimmons joins the series with Masterton Motorsport. ■

2026 DUNLOP SERIES, ROUND 1

YOUNG TALENT TIME

The stars of tomorrow race here. The Toyota GAZOO Racing Australia GR Cup returns in 2026 with big fields and fantastic racing.

The Toyota GAZOO Racing Australia GR Cup remains a leading attraction on the Repco Supercars Championship undercard, featuring the best and brightest talent in the motorsport pipeline competing in identical equipment.

At the start of the 2024 season, a brand-new model GR86 made its racing debut on the streets of Townsville, which has proven to continue the category’s tradition of ultra-tight racing that breeds the future stars of the sport.

Built by longtime Toyota partner Neal Bates Motorsport, the latest-generation machine features more power and less weight than its predecessor, and despite faster lap times, racing has continued to be spectacular.

If history is anything to go by, the stars of the future will be racing in front of you this weekend.

In 2016, Will Brown secured the inaugural Australian Toyota 86 Racing Series title with

seven wins from 14 races, a feat that marked the beginning of his subsequent rise up the motorsport ranks, culminating in his victory in the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship.

Similarly, his Red Bull Ampol Racing stablemate, Broc Feeney, shot to prominence with his exploits in the class in 2018, before cleaning up in Super3 and Super2, and eventually replacing Jamie Whincup at Triple Eight Race Engineering.

Cameron Hill twice featured in the top three of the end-of-season pointscore, while it was also a step on the ladder to the Supercars main game taken by the likes of Kai Allen, Aaron Cameron and Ryan Wood.

Looking elsewhere within the Supercars ranks, there is ample GR Cup experience, including fresh graduates to the main game such as Zach Bates, Rylan Gray, Jobe Stewart, Jayden Ojeda and Declan Fraser.

Come endurance race time, the list swells to include the likes of Cameron Crick, Lochie Dalton, Zak Best, Brad Vaughan and Jarrod

Hughes.

Such is the category’s popularity that, in 2023, a second-tier Scholarship Series was introduced as a further stepping stone for young drivers entering the motorsport scene, with competitors utilising firstgeneration machinery.

Several of its products have excelled upon arrival in the GR Cup, with graduates including Max Geoghegan, the grandson of five-time Australian Touring Car champion Ian Geoghegan, who has subsequently stepped up into the Dunlop Super2 Series after winning the 2024 GR Cup.

Keep an eye out for 2025 series victor Oliver Wickham, who claimed the title at the tender age of 16.

In 2026, the Toyota GAZOO Racing Australia GR Cup will feature a stacked calendar alongside the Repco Supercars Championship, kicking off in Sydney before visiting Townsville, Queensland Raceway, Bathurst and Sandown. ■

2026 TGRA GR CUP, ROUND 1

DELIVERING ACTION

The V8 SuperUtes is a class going from strength to strength, with deep fields turning on the thrills in machinery that resonates with the masses.

the Tyrepower V8 SuperUte Series continues to grow in popularity around Australia, with full fields turning in action-packed racing.

While the on-track action from the category is forever a crowd favourite, perhaps the strongest suit of the category is the familiarity of the vehicles with the fanbase - the sales chart-topping dual-cab segment of the marketplace now has true relevancy on the racetrack.

Picture an angry pack featuring the Isuzu D-MAX against the Mazda BT-50, Ford Ranger, Toyota HiLux, Mitsubishi Triton and Holden Colorado – it’s a recipe bound to redraw battle lines in the grandstands and car park.

While the category originated in 2018, it truly came of age in 2021, when it ushered in its V8-powered era, and competitor

numbers surged.

Despite the various vehicles involved in the class, a long list of spec components under the skin of the V8 SuperUtes helps ensure a level playing field across the different marques.

A 6.2-litre V8 powerplant is paired with a six-speed transmission, featuring a range of standardised driveline components that simplify competitors’ operations.

Big Brembo brakes provide stopping power, while low-profile Yokohama tyres and a lowered ride height have added to the sporting credentials of the package.

Now in its eighth season, the 2026 season is shaping up as a classic.

Following a tight 2024 season, which went down to the wire on the streets of Adelaide, with victory going the way of popular West Australian Adam Marjoram,

David Sieders sealed the 2025 title at Sandown by only seven points over Marjoram.

All told, eight different drivers made visits to the podium last season, with a experienced hands set to be challenged this year by a fresh crop of emerging talent, eager to make a point.

The 2026 schedule for the class sees the category return to the Dunlop Sydney 500, before heading south to Tasmania and Symmons Plains Raceway, before a trip across the Nullarbor Plain to MotorMall Wanneroo Raceway, and then Mount Panorama, for the Repco Bathurst 1000 event.

The season is then rounded out by a return to street circuits, with the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 and the bp Adelaide Grand Final. ■

HEAVY METAL BATTLE

The Touring Car Masters continues to be a crowd favourite at circuits around Australia, with familiar faces pushing big bad V8s to the limits.

the Touring Car Masters Series is continuing its resurgence in 2026, with the ever-popular class bringing together an eclectic mix of memorable muscle cars.

Rolling out with a six-round national tour, TCM combines classic metal from the 1970s and ‘80s, bringing back big memories from the Group C era and beyond.

Taking centre stage will once again be the battle of blue versus red, with Ford’s finest taking on the best General Motors has to offer, with a field drawn from both home-grown Aussie-manufactured muscle cars, and the big, brash iron stemming from Detroit’s Pony Car scene.

In the Ford corner, expect entrants from the early generations of Mustang, plus Falcon’s fastest, extending from early XY GTHO models to more contemporary XDs, which starred in touring car circles at the turn of the 1980s.

Wearing Chevrolet’s Bowtie proudly will be examples such as the Camaro and Monza, while Holden fans will rejoice in the best from the Torana and Commodore nameplates.

A left field addition to the ranks is typically the Tilley family’s Valiant Pacer, which provides a proverbial cat among the pigeons from the Mopar ranks.

Perhaps the most exciting aspect of this mix is that the category’s rules are designed to see performance equalised on track, which paves the way for cars from different eras to be competitive on any given weekend.

Since the category’s inception in 2007, it has earned an impressive honour roll, including five-time champion John Bowe, four-time victor Steven Johnson, and two-time winner Jim Richards.

Last year, the title was secured by Joel Heinrich, after a string of standout

performances in his Whiteline Racingprepared Camaro.

Keep an eye out for additional machinery to join the Touring Car Masters field in 2026, with some exciting new builds in progress.

Weekend formats feature an emphasis on racing action, with a reverse grid Trophy Race kicking off each round, followed by three short, sharp sprint races, culminating in an overall round winner.

The 2026 season comprises six rounds, kicking off with the Dunlop Sydney 500 at Sydney Motorsport Park, then Symmons Plains Raceway and the streets of Townsville for the NTI Townsville 500.

August will see a return to Sydney for the Australian Muscle Car Masters, before linking back up with the Repco Supercars Championship for the AirTouch 500 at The Bend and the Bathurst TCM Grand Finale at the Repco Bathurst 1000. ■
