GUJRANWALA, PAKISTAN M.F.A. CREATIVE WRITING
The Creative Writing program at UW is awesome. Unlike some other creative writing programs, there is a culture of comradery rather than competitiveness. When I saw the pictures of UW, I knew immediately that this place was beautifully tangled with nature and would be amazing for a beginner like me to get in touch with my inner writer.

ARGENTINA
PH.D. ECOLOGY / NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC SOCIETY
After obtaining a Ph.D. in Ecology at UW, I returned to my country, Argentina. I became the Director of Science of Fundación Rewilding Argentina, a non-profit organization that aims to restore ecosystems through the reintroduction of species that had been eradicated by humans in historic times. We work with a myriad of species, the mighty jaguar among them. In many of these projects, my major collaborators are former UW classmates—these are the kind of strong relations that you forge at UW.
M.S.
My M.S. degree and role as a Graduate Research Assistant at UW were instrumental in securing my position as Climate Change Program Manager at the University of Maryland's Environmental Finance Center. Through my involvement in cutting-edge DOE-funded projects and international conferences on carbon capture and storage and hydrogen infrastructure transportation, I've gained invaluable expertise in energy transition technologies and resilient infrastructure. These experiences have uniquely positioned me to contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation e orts in my new role.
COLOMBIA PH.D. PETROLEUM ENGINEERING
I chose the University of Wyoming because it o ers excellent laboratories, facilities, professors and courses that significantly enhance my education in Petroleum Engineering. I was drawn to the program's mission and the numerous opportunities it provides for graduate students. The university's extensive experience in this field is also a major advantage. Additionally, Wyoming has significant oil and gas production and has become a key player in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space, making it an ideal place to learn from professors and gain practical insights into the energy industry.
When she isn't working on her research, Laura likes to explore the hiking trails and rock-climbing areas just outside of Laramie.

PAPUA, INDONESIA
B.S. MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
Honestly, before getting the chance to come to UW, I had never heard about Wyoming before. But after UW representatives came to visit my friends and I at our previous college and talked about UW, I fell in love. I am a small-town girl, so I thought it would be a perfect place for me. I decided to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering because I grew up with a family of engineers, and I thought it would be cool for a woman to do mechanical engineering.
Vice President of Indonesian Students Association (INASA) and Member of WISEM (Women in Science, Engineering, and Mathematics)
I chose the University of Wyoming because it o ers a strong civil engineering program with experienced faculty and good facilities. UW o ers research opportunities and projects that can help students gain practical experience. The small community also gives more personalized attention to students.
