A MESSAGE FROM THE ADVISORY BOARD CHAIR:
Keep Things Moving Forward
It has been my pleasure to serve as past chair of the UW College of Business Advisory Board (COBAB) this year. As I leave the Executive Committee of the board, I am grateful for the opportunity to have served for Dean Sprott’s full term. It has been an exciting and forwardlooking time for the College of Business, and a period of growth for the Advisory Board. In my first meeting with Dean Sprott, I described the COBAB as a tremendous group of committed people waiting to be given something meaningful to do for the college. The leadership team has picked up on that theme, and so has the dean. We have made much progress with Dean Sprott’s leadership, but there is always more to do.
Structuring the committees around the points of the strategic plan has given the board a way to further the progress of the college using the talents of board members. As we work with Interim Dean Godby, COBAB can distinguish itself by continuing the hard work of its committees to accomplish the goals of the strategic plan. Though we will be in another leadership transition, the COBAB can move the priorities of the college forward with its own efforts. I urge each of us to continue our committee work so that each meeting features reports of progress and success.
As impressed as I have been by the commitment of COBAB members to the college, I believe the board’s best days are ahead of it. As we prepare to open the Green Johnson Student Success Center, let us stick together and move forward with the college’s agenda under the leadership of our Executive Committee. I look forward to continuing to work with you all.
Gregory C. Dyekman College of Business Advisory Board Chair
