2020-2021 SCHOLARSHIP AND AWARD DONORS AND RECIPIENTS In 2020-2021, the College of Business awarded over $500,000 in scholarships. All of these scholarships are provided by generous alumni and friends of the College. All of the recipients are outstanding scholars, and many have financial need as well. Andrikopoulos Family Scholarship Andy and Barbara Andrikopoulos established this endowed scholarship to provide funds for business students transferring from Laramie County Community College. Special consideration is given to students who have shown a desire to improve their station in life through education. Rudolph "Rudy" and Louise Anselmi and Jeri Kirk Family Trust Business Scholarship Rudolph "Rudy" (BS '25) and Louise Anselmi began providing this scholarship as an annual scholarship during the 1980s. Upon their deaths, their family established the Rudolph "Rudy" and Louise Anselmi and Jeri Kirk Family Trust Business Scholarship which continues to provide this scholarship. Awards are made to full-time College of Business students majoring in Accounting. L.C. Atkins and Mary Lou Atkins Scholarship Mary Lou Atkins of Torrington, Wyoming, established this scholarship in 1992 in memory of her late husband, L.C. Atkins. Harold E. Baker Scholarship Fund The Wyoming Candy, Tobacco & Coin Vendors Association established this scholarship in 1989 in memory of Harold E. Baker. This fund helps support students who are Juniors and Seniors in the Management and Marketing Departments. Bryan and Evelyn Brodersen Family Scholarship Endowment in Business in Memory of Charles E. and Lolette J. Brodersen Bryan and Evelyn Brodersen of Laramie established this scholarship in honor of Bryan’s parents Mr. Charles E. and Mrs. Lolette J. Brodersen. Awards are made to full-time, undergraduate students in the College of Business with at least a sophomore standing and a grade point average of a 3.0 or better. Senator Michael B. Enzi Scholarship This endowed scholarship was established in 2000 by the Black Hills Corporation to honor the career of Senator Michael B. Enzi and his commitment to the state of Wyoming. The scholarship is awarded to College of Business students with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Brylee Schuler of Powell, WY Roy Coors of Loveland, CO Edmond Escolas Scholarship This fund was established in 1992 by Edmond & Fern Escolas to benefit students majoring in finance. Corey McSwain of Laramie, WY Jesse Saldamando of Colorado Springs, CO Kaleb Spiva of Casper, WY Harold D. Flater Memorial Scholarship This endowment was provided by Jacqueline J. Bath in memory of her father, Harold D. Flater. The award is made to a full-time business student who is majoring in Accounting and has at least a 2.5 grade point average. EA Fornstrom Scholarship in Accounting Betty & James Fornstrom established this endowed scholarship in 2015. Awards are made to full-time students majoring in Accounting who are juniors, seniors or graduate students. Recipients should also show an interest in becoming a certified public accountant. Vabsi Ibarra of Green River, WY Ken and Leah Griffin Scholarship This endowed scholarship was established in 2003 by friends of Ken and Leah Griffin. The award is made to a full-time student in the College of Business who is a first generation college student with freshman or sophomore standing. Donovan Hoffman of Gillette, WY Grooms & Harkins Student Professional Engagement Fund Grooms & Hawkins P.C. established this fund in 2015 to provide assistance in three areas; student travel to and from and registration for professional conferences, student registration for and payment of CPA examination fees, and student stipends for CPA review courses.
Dr. Frank & Alma Hertel Memorial Fund This fund was established in 2005 by Donald J. and Susan C. Kany in memory of Dr. Frank and Alma Hertel to promote internship experiences for Business students. Hilltop Bank Scholarship This annual scholarship is provided by Hilltop Bank in Casper, Wyoming, in support of the banking and financial services program. An award is made to a full-time business student who is majoring in finance/banking. Paul and Sandy Hoffman Family Scholarship in Business Paul and Sandy Hoffman established this scholarship in 2005. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time junior, senior, or graduate College of Business student who have a 2.5 minimum grade point average. Jack Shore of Fort Collins, CO Ralph W. Holland, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Mrs. Elsie M. Holland established this scholarship in 1997 in honor of Ralph W. Holland, Jr. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time sophomore, junior, or senior College of Business student who maintains a 3.0 GPA or better. Participation in academic and/or pre-professional organizations and recommendations by faculty are taken into consideration. Awards are made to full-time students in the College of Business with a GPA of at least 3.0. Preference is given to students with a GPA of 3.5 and above who are graduates of Sheridan High School in Sheridan, Wyoming or Wray High School in Wray, Colorado who participated in high school athletics. Awards are made to students in good standing majoring in the College of Business. Ashley Frye of Ekalaka, MT Cory Keating of Casper, WY Kylee Theiler of Tomahawk, WI Todd and Arlene Kelly Family Business Scholarship Todd and Arlene Kelly established this award in 2016. Awards are made to full-time students in the College of Business who are Wyoming residents and have financial need. Preference is given to students from Lander, Wyoming.
Kosman Family Scholarship The Kosman Family established this scholarship in 2012. Awards are made to full-time students with College of Business majors and a major or minor in the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources. Beau Brown of Cheyenne, WY Evan Heil of Buffalo, WY Lange Foundation MBA Graduate Assistant – Alumni Career Services The Lange Foundation established this fund in 2016 to create a graduate assistantship at the UW Alumni Association. Graduate assistants will be selected from current College of Business MBA students. Laramie Area Chamber of Commerce Business Council Scholarship The Laramie Area Chamber of Commerce Business Council established this endowed scholarship in 1987. The award goes to a full-time student in the College of Business who is an Albany County resident. Colby Clay of Laramie, WY LeRoy L. Lee Memorial Accounting Scholarship This endowed scholarship was established by Mr. Vincent Siren in memory of LeRoy L. Lee. Other friends of Professor Lee have also made contributions to this endowment. The scholarship is awarded to a graduate student pursuing a Master of Science degree in Accounting. Kyle Gounod of Los Altos, CA Owen Schwechler of Laramie, WY Ryan Jackman of Cokeville, WY Vabsi Ibarra of Green River, WY Bruce and Deanna Lien Scholarship Bruce and Deanna Lien established this scholarship in 1990 to enhance the education of Business and Economics students. David Lowe Memorial Scholarship This endowed scholarship was established by Jewell Lowe in memory of David M. Lowe. It is awarded to a sophomore, junior or senior majoring in Marketing in the College of Business and maintaining a cumulative grade point average between 3.0 and 3.5. Fathi Mansour Memorial Scholarship This annual scholarship was established by Mrs. Zeinab Mansour in memory of Dr. Fathi A. Mansour who was an Accounting professor at the time of his death. This scholarship is awarded to full-time College of Business Accounting majors with demonstrated academic ability. McDaniel Family Business Scholarship The McDaniel family established this award in 2016. Awards are given to fulltime College of Business students who have financial need. Preference is given to students seeking dual majors (one major must be in the College of Business). Lloyd McDaniel Memorial Scholarship This endowed scholarship was established by Mrs. Eva McDaniel and friends of Dr. Lloyd McDaniel in his memory. It is awarded to a full-time junior or senior in the College of Business majoring in Accounting who has expressed a desire to become a certified public accountant. Rebecca Herman of Colorado Springs, CO McGee, Hearne & Paiz LLP Accountancy Scholarship Provided annually by McGee, Hearne & Paiz LLP of Cheyenne, Wyoming, this scholarship is awarded to outstanding full-time Accounting students in the College of Business. George McGrail Accounting Scholarship Dr. George McGrail and friends established this scholarship in 2013. Awards are made to full-time College of Business students who are majoring in Accounting and have a junior or senior class standing. Joseph Crane of Lander, WY Michael Carroll of Billings, MT Max Halley of Fort Collins, CO John and Jennifer McGuire-Haste Overcomer Scholarship Jennifer McGuire-Haste (BS ’94) and John Haste established this endowed scholarship in 2016 to assist a non-traditional or single parent student studying in the College of Business that has, or is, in the process of overcoming adversity. Meeboer Scholarship This endowed scholarship was provided by the family and friends of Lawrence G. Meeboer (BS '26). The award is made to a full-time junior or senior in the College of Business who is a Wyoming resident. Abigail Byrd of Cheyenne, WY Jean F. Messer Memorial Scholarship This endowed scholarship was provided by family and friends in memory of Dr. Jean F. Messer, long-time Accounting professor and former department chairman. Full-time junior or senior Accounting majors in the College of Business are eligible for this award. Ethan Wilkins of Cheyenne, WY John C Miller Business Administration Scholarship This scholarship was endowed in 1976 in memory of John C. Miller to support students in the management and marketing departments. Kara Lutz of Laramie, WY Reata Beck of Albin, WY Robert Ross Miller & Frances A. Miller Memorial Scholarship in Accounting Mrs. Frances A. Miller established this endowed scholarship in memory of Robert Ross Miller. Mr. Miller received his B.S. in Accounting in 1948. He worked for Texaco for 34 years; his last position was Manager of Tax Accounting. Juniors or seniors majoring in Accounting in the College of Business who maintain good grade point averages qualify. Clifford B. The Genevieve Edsall Mortensen Scholarship Fund This endowed scholarship was established by James E. Mortensen in 1999 in honor of his wife, Genevieve Edsall Mortensen. Late in life, Genevieve developed a neuro-muscular disease which eventually resulted in her using a scooter for mobility. M. Clare Mundell Scholarship in Banking & Finance This endowed scholarship was established by colleagues, family, and friends as a tribute to Dean Emeritus M. Clare Mundell for his hard work and accomplishments as the Executive Director of the Wyoming Bankers Association as well as his more than 37 years service to the College of Business and University of Wyoming. It is awarded to full-time juniors and seniors majoring in Finance or Banking who maintain excellent grade point averages. The award is made to full-time graduate students with academic or professional interests in the field of regulatory, environmental, or energy economics. Robert G. Roe Scholarship in Marketing Suzanne Roe established this annual scholarship in 2019 in memory of her husband Robert G. Roe, a professor of marketing for four decades at the University of Wyoming. This scholarship is awarded to marketing majors with a grade point average of 3.2 or above.

DISTINGUISHED ALUMNUS 2020-2021 SUSAN ROLL, B.S. 1989 Susan Roll graduated with a degree in business administration while playing golf for the University of Wyoming in 1989. Susan is the co-founder and CEO of the Carlsbad Golf Center which was started in 2003. She is a twenty-one year PGA Class A Professional and an LPGA Life Member. Working as a golf professional since 1990, Susan has broken down barriers within the business world to provide opportunities to grow and make a difference while encompassing acceptance and respect for nearly 30 years. As the first female to earn PGA Professional of the Year in both Southern California and San Diego, she set the bar for other young female golf business professionals to achieve their dreams through hard work in a predominately male workforce. In 2015, she and her partner, Dana, endowed the Roll & Chaiken Family Scholarship which is awarded to a student-athlete at the University of Wyoming who participates, or has participated, in the Women’s Golf intercollegiate athletic program with preference for a student studying business.
DISTINGUISHED ALUMNUS 2020-2021 KEVIN ROCHLITZ, B.S. 1993 Kevin Rochlitz graduated with a degree in Marketing from the University of Wyoming in 1993 and is currently the Senior Vice President and Chief Sales Officer of the Baltimore Ravens, an organization he has been with since 2003. In this role, Kevin leads the Ravens’ corporate sales department and suite sales, which includes national and regional partnerships, broadcasting contracts –including day-to-day operations with TV and Radio. Kevin led the sale of the Constellation Energy Suite Level at M&T Bank Stadium. Kevin conceptualized, developed, and coordinated a partnership with Under Armour, which led to the team’s training facility being named The Under Armour Performance Center. Recently, he was named the Baltimore Smart CEO Executive of the Year and was also chosen to participate in Leadership Baltimore County. Kevin has regularly spoken to business classes over the past 18 years. Kevin and his wife, Melissa, have established the Rochlitz Family Athletics Intern Scholarship Endowment for students considering a profession in Sports Marketing. Their daughter, Riley, has been accepted and is planning on attending the University of Wyoming in the fall of 2021. On a regular basis, Kevin makes time to speak with University of Wyoming business students personally about their career goals and aspirations and is a member of our College of Business Advisory Board.
