Purpose of the Program: To prepare par*cipants to become ac*ve, effec*ve, and knowledgeable board members for our local nonprofit organiza*ons. Graduates are connected with nonprofits seeking new leaders for their board of directors.
The program, run by United Way Young Leaders, is open to the public and consists of 10 sessions, including networking opportuni*es. The sessions cover:

• Board’s Role in Fundraising
• Ethics: Fiscal and Legal Responsibili*es
• Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
• Resume & Bio Wri*ng
• Strategic Planning
• Board-Staff Rela*onship
• Advocacy & Ambassadorship
2024-2025 Program Dates:
• January 9, 2025: Evening Orienta*on (In-person, Thomas & HuYon)
• January 16, 2025
• January 30, 2025
• February 13, 2025
• February 27, 2025
• March 6, 2025: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm session (Microso\ Teams) & 7:00 pm BRP Program Mixer (Loca*on TBD)
• March 27, 2025
• April 10, 2025
• April 24, 2025
• May 8, 2025: Evening Gradua*on (Loca*on TBD)
All sessions are from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm via MicrosoM Teams, unless otherwise noted.
Commitment: Admission to the program requires a $365 contribu*on to United Way's Community Fund or 14 tracked volunteer hours between July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025.
