Ouraimistomakeaneducationaccessibletoall.Tomakethis possible and to reach our vision of the equivalent of 60% of studentsonafullscholarship, wenotonlyneedtoincreasethe support we receive for scholarship fees but also raise funds to covertheadditionalcostsneededfortravel, visa, pocketmoney andotherassociatedcosts.
Withoutthisfinancialhelp, studentswillnotbeabletotravelto the college and be supported whilst here. Additional costs can often add a significant burden to parents if we do not provide this, leaving families making very difficult decisions. An added pressure is that since the COVID pandemic, flight costs have spiralled - often doubling in price. We are witnessing a rise in how many students that are not in a position to accept a scholarshipbecausetheycan’taffordthevisaandtravelcosts.
Many of our students also arrive at the college without the necessaryitemsthattheyneedandhavenomoneytopurchaselike clothes and boots to keep them warm during the winter monthsandalaptopwhichisessentialfortheirstudies
Some of our students arrive with no mobile phone, most will haveneverlefttheirhometownbeforeandwillmisstheirfamily incredibly. It is important for us to provide them with a basic phoneiftheyneeditsotheycankeepintouchwiththeirfamily andfriends, especiallyasUWCAtlanticisinsucharemoteplace.
Thisisaddingsignificantpressureoncollegefinances.Weneed the support of our philanthropic donors and current parents to makethishappen.

Every student’s situation will be unique and we only cover what is needed.
Taking into consideration the estimated additional cost per student, the following table shows the total amount of financial support we needtoraiseforeachtwo-yearstudentcohort.
