Living in a new culture and learning a new language are great ways to challenge yourself and gain experience that employers like to see. Kirsten Magedanz, a biology major, researched bats as part of the Summer Undergraduate Scholars Program, which offers students the opportunity to work full time on a research project in their area of interest. Her research revealed interesting trends in changing bat populations in the region.

Engineering students Dylan Notsch and Will Straka studied the effects of anti-icing on the durability of concrete. Part of their research included a field study at one of the largest pavementtesting facilities in the world.

Kimberly Cummings, a criminal justice and psychology double major, researched the topic of psychological profiling. Working with faculty mentor Dr. Alec Eshelman, Assistant Professor of Psychology, she presented her research project, “Meta-Analysis of Psychological Profiling: Overall Accuracy and Factors that Influence Accuracy.”
