KARRMANN LIBRARY
FACILITY RENEWAL
$14 million renovation of 26,425 square feet

One-stop shop to support students
Reimagining Karrmann Library as a comprehensive student success center will co-locate the essential services most used by our students—advising, tutoring, financial aid, veterans’ services, and technology support— with extended evening hours to meet their needs. This modern location will empower UW-Platteville students to access needed services while balancing their busy lives, ensuring career-ready graduates.

Impact of modern infrastructure
Modern, attractive facilities are an important deciding factor for students. After the opening of UW-Platteville’s engineering building, Sesquicentennial Hall, engineering enrollment grew by more than 5%. Investing in vibrant spaces will help us attract more students from the tri-state region, many of whom will stay in Wisconsin after graduation and strengthen the workforce.

A modern library space: active learning center
We are transforming our traditional library into a dynamic space for doing. This vision is built on a decade of rigorous use-analysis, financial planning, and consultative site visits to determine the right mix of services to help our learners and their families. Simply stated, our goal is to make the library a high-functioning, multi-use space for learning and support. Over the past two years, we have established a solid financial footing and documented alumni and stakeholder support for this project. As a result, UW-Platteville is prepared to make this request and successfully complete the project.
