Living on Campus

See what steps you’ve already taken and what your next steps might be to stay on track for NSE.

GET STARTED IN PASS

 Complete Intent to Enroll.  Sign up for New Student Experience; visit go.uwplatt.edu/nse-reserve for instructions. y When signing up, choose a date to attend your On-Campus Orientation experience. y You are encouraged to add the names of up to two guests who will attend your On-Campus Orientation with you. y You can add contact information for any family members who want to receive communications about New Student Experience. Log in before your On-Campus Orientation session to edit or add this information.

REGISTER FOR FALL CLASSES

 Complete Placement Tests. y These must be completed at least two weeks before your advising appointment. y Not completing your placement tests in time will delay your advising and registration appointment.  Complete all required Canvas modules BEFORE meeting with your academic advisor. Reviewing these modules is the best way to prepare for your advising appointment. y Your academic advisor will provide you with information about accessing and completing the Canvas modules.  Meet with your academic advisor to register for classes. y Watch for an email to schedule a registration and advising appointment with your academic advisor. y Your advisor will review your placement test results and what they mean during your advising appointment.

ATTEND ON-CAMPUS ORIENTATION

 Enjoy your time on campus. y Meet new friends. y Learn about campus resources and student involvement. y Participate in interactive sessions about different majors and academic experiences. y Have your photo taken for your Campus ID. y At the end of the day, grab your Campus ID and a cool yard sign. y Encourage up to two family members to attend with you.  Check out the On-Campus Orientation schedule at go.uwplatt.edu/orientationschedule-brb.

STAY INFORMED

 Access your UW-Platteville email. y Visit go.uwplatt.edu/access-email to learn how to access your UW-Platteville email. y If you have questions about your email account or about setting up Duo Two-Factor Authentication, look for an email sent to your personal email with the subject line, “UW-Platteville Email Access”. y Make sure you check your email often, and read carefully.  Follow us on Instagram @uwplattnse2022 for updates and the chance to win cool giveaways.  Review uwplatt.edu/new-student-experience for more information on all these steps.  Check out the orientation booklet at go.uwplatt.edu/orientationbooklet-brb for additional resources and answers to questions.

WHAT’S NEXT

 Sign your Textbook Agreement in PASS (available early August).  Complete the online Mandatory Prevention Course facilitated by the Dean of Students Office. A personalized link will be sent to your UW-Platteville email in early August.  Learn about getting involved. y Search for PioneerLink on the Pioneer Portal at portal.uwplatt.edu or contact Jason Schulte, schultejas@uwplatt.edu, to learn about our variety of student organizations.
