WELCOME The UVA Center for Global Health Equity (CGHE) engages multiple disciplines across the University of Virginia, as well as across cultural, economic, and geographic divides, to focus on improving health and wellbeing. It has been an honor working on the case and supporting the 2024 Global Health Case Competition, which includes over 125 student participants, outstanding faculty and guest judges representing multiple critical disciplines, and a diverse and dynamic group of peer mentors whose experience and guidance is essential. We are delighted and proud of the support and guidance of our global partners, our faculty mentors, and the faculty judges. In the spirit of collaboration, we welcome each and every one of you. Thank you for being a part of this competition.

CASE SUMMARY The goal of mitigating alcohol abuse in South African youth will require engaging diverse stakeholders and reflecting on the unique needs of its various populations. Through your planning, you should reflect on how to engage with community-based stakeholders (ie: the public, patients, health centers, and clinicians) as well as the government at various levels. Be sure to address cultural, social, economic factors when creating your plan. Your task is to incorporate a program that: Finds a solution for decreasing alcohol overuse of the South African youth (15-25) in either rural and impoverished communities, urban university settings, or both populations Works to deliver a comprehensive initiative with an emphasis on equality of access to health educational resources and inequality reduction A newsletter is a regularly publication that isempowerment generally Mobilizes the community to distributed work towards sustainable about one main topic of interest to its subscribers.
