ABOUT THE UTRGV MODERN BAND PROGRAM:
The UTRGV modern band ensembles feature students and faculty who are broadening their musical horizons by playing new instruments and styles. Participants in these groups are learning new instruments and playing secondary instruments (and singing), some for the first time!
The aim of the modern band program is to expand the idea of what music education and music in the academy is and should be, by encouraging contemporary musical styles, informal and aural learning processes, experimentation, and amateurismdoing something just for the love of it. It won't be perfect, but we have worked hard to present the best possible performance for you! We hope you enjoy the show!
