TemaNuevoSantander isanoriginal themeandaproudmusical introductiontoMariachiNuevo Santander.Thesongcelebratesthe arrivalofthemariachias representativesforofjoy,beauty,and tradition,whosemusicliftstheheart andunitesthecommunity.Withstrong rhythmicdriveandheartfeltlyrics,it highlightsthedeep“sangremariachi” thatpulsesfromthemusicianstothe audience,affirmingtheensemble’s identity,passion,andcommitmentto preservingthemariachispirit. Mariachi isaheartfelttributeto mariachimusicasthevoiceofthe peopleandasymbolofcultural identity.Thesongexpresseslove, pride,andgratitudeformariachi traditions,fromitssonesand huapangostoiconicmelodiesthat defineMexico’smusicalheritage.It honorsmariachiasalivinglegacy—an emblemofnationalpridethatbeganin Jaliscoandnowresonatesthroughout theworld—endingwithajoyfuland powerfuldeclaration:°Vivaelmariachi!

ElNiñoPerdido isaclassicofthe Mexicanrepertoirethatmixesanguish andlivelyrhythmsong,narratingthe anguishofamusicianwhosebandwas playingatacelebrationandhissongot lost,usingmusicasameansof searching.

ElPastor isoneofthemostbeautiful andrepresentativesongsofthe traditionalMexicanrepertoire.It belongstothehuapangoranchero genreorMexicanlyricalsong.Ittells thestoryofashepherdwhosingstohis flockandtonature,evokingfreedom, solitude,andlovefortheland.

AmericatheBeautiful isafamous Americanpatrioticsonginspiredbythe

viewfromPikesPeak,Colorado,it celebratestheAmericanlandscapeand ideals,oftenconsideredanunofficial nationalanthem.

AmoEstaTierra exudeslovefor Mexico,,itslyricsrefertothelifeand knowledgegainedfromlivingonthe landthatoneloves.Itisfullofnational pride,certainthatnoothercountry couldpossiblycompare. AmoEsta Tierra waslateradaptedintoajoropostylepiece.

PopurrĂŚJalisco highlightssomeofthe mosticonic,high-spirited,and traditionalsongsfromtheMexican stateofJalisco.Thisvibrantstyleis markedbydrivingenergy,patriotic pride,andseamlesstransitions betweenclassicsonesjalisciensesand belovedrancheras.

TeSigoAmando isatimeless, bittersweetballadbythelegendary MexicancomposerandsingerJuan Gabriel.Featuringasweepingmariachi arrangementandagracefulwaltz tempo,thesongdeliversaheartfelt declarationofenduringlove.Itslyrics expressunconditionaldevotionand lingeringsorrow,wishinghappiness uponaformerpartnerdespitedeep emotionalpain.

VeredaTropical,writtenandoriginally performedinthe1940sbyMexican composerGonzaloCuriel,isa celebratedboleroassociatedwith romantic,tropicalimagery.Thesong hasbeeninterpretedbymanyartists overthedecades,includingSantanaon the1983albumHavanaMoon.

andhuapangofalsetto,creatinga deeplyemotionalportrayalof heartbreakandlonging.Rootedinthe sonhuastecotradition,itblends intricate,syncopatedhuapango rhythmswithmournful,expressive lyrics.Therhythmicvitalitycontrasts poignantlywiththesong’sthemesof lostloveandsorrow.

PopurríVeracruz (PopurríJarocho) isa livelymedleyhonoringtherichcultural heritageoftheMexicanstateof Veracruz.CombiningIndigenous, Spanish,andAfricaninfluences,it weavestogetherbelovedregional piecessuchas MaríaChuchena, El Siquirirí,and Cascabel.Thesemelodies drawinspirationfromtheVeracruz traditionfamouslyincorporatedby composerJoséPabloMoncayointohis renowned1941orchestralwork

Huapango,oftenregardedasMexico’s “secondnationalanthem.”Thefinal piece, Cascabel,isespeciallypopular amongyoungmariachis,whoaredrawn toitslivelycharacteranddistinctive minor-keythree-chordprogression.

ComposerSilvestreRevueltas embracedthetransformationand modernizationMexicowas experiencingattheturnoftheXX century,capturingthebarbarismaswell asthebeautyoflifeinhisworks;he createdanewmusicallanguagethat wasmoremodernandmoredirect.His compositionsareauniquecombination ofLatinAmericanpopularmusicand avant-gardetechniquesoftheearlyXX century,speciallyinfilmmusic.Afterhis

firstscoreforthefilm Redes of1936,he wrotemusictoeightmorefilmsbefore hisdeadin1940.Oneofhislastscores wasfor LaNochedelosMayas,afilm aboutaMayantribestilllivingina traditionalwayandtheirencounterwith themodernworld.Despitesomeinitial favorablereviewsinMexico,thefilm hasbeenlargelyforgotten.The1960 orchestrasuitebyJoséYvesLimantour usesmusicfromthe36cuesof Revueltas’originalfilmscorearranged intofour-movements(composerand conductorEnriqueDiemeckelater addedapercussioncadenzabasedon motifsfromvariousRevueltasscoresto filltheindicatedmomentinthefinal movementofLimantour’sversion.)The firstmovementissolemnand mysterious,featuringagrandiose fanfarethatalternateswithalyrical secondarytheme.Then,thesecond movement“NochedeJaranas”(Night ofMerrymakers)inspiredbyfestiveand cheerfulpopularMexicandances,isa scherzothatusestherhythmoftheson (atypeoffolk-dancebuiltontheclave rhythm,predecessorofthemodern salsadancerhythm).Thethird movement,“NochedeYucatán”(Night ofYucatán),greatlycontraststhe previoustwomovementswithits melancholiclyricism,expressiveness thatisonlybrieflyinterruptedbya middlesectioninafastertempo, inspiredbyanotherfolkmelodythat featuresthesolofluteandpercussion. Thelastmovement,“Nochede Encantamiento”(Nightof Enchantment),openswithahaunting oboemelodyfollowedbyasetof variationsthatarefullofenergy, includinganenormouspercussion assemblythatevokesaritualceremony, culminatinginacolossalorchestral climax.
