In 2026, Wildstrubel by UTMB® celebrates its 5th edition. Five years already of runners, volunteers, partners and local communities coming together around the same mountain range, between Valais and the Bernese Oberland, to experience a unique sporting and human adventure.

SWITZERLAND IN ITS WILDEST FORM,

5 YEARS OF ADVENTURE AROUND THE WILDSTRUBEL

For this anniversary edition, 8,500 runners from 92 nationalities will line up at the start of one of our races. A number that reflects how far we have come since the very first edition, as well as your ever-growing loyalty. Thank you for your trust!

Running trails in such an exceptional environment also means respecting its demands. The mountains are a natural alpine environment that can be challenging: safety will always come first, and everyone must be fully aware of this when taking the start.

This year also marks a new chapter in the history of Wildstrubel by UTMB®, with the arrival of the Wild Glacier Marathon. This new format adds to the adventure and takes you right to the heart of what makes our region so unique: a spectacular alpine environment of glaciers, mountain passes and peaks.

For many months now, the organising committee has been working with passion and dedication to make this 5th edition a great celebration of trail running — sporting, friendly, authentic and festive.

Whether you take on the Wild 110, Wild 70, Wild 55, Wild Glacier Marathon, Wild 25 or Wild 10, or participate in the Wild NextGen races, children’s formats or our inclusive initiatives, we are committed to giving you an exceptional adventure around the Wildstrubel massif. Beyond the kilometres and elevation gain, an extraordinary journey through 5 world-renowned destinations and 2 cantons awaits you: Crans-Montana, Leukerbad/ Loèche-les-Bains, Kandersteg, Adelboden and Lenk, between Valais and the Bernese Oberland. An adventure that crosses landscapes, cultures and languages, and which is what makes Wildstrubel by UTMB® so unique.

A huge thank you to the local organising committee, race officials, our 600 volunteers, the 5 partner destinations, the cantons of Valais and Bern, as well as all our sponsors, partners and local service providers. Their commitment and passion make this adventure possible. WE WISH EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU AN EXCELLENT RACE, WONDERFUL EMOTIONS, GREAT ENCOUNTERS AND LOTS OF SUCCESS FOR THIS 5TH EDITION! For the organising committee, Ryan Baumann, President & race director WILDSTRUBEL BY UTMB®

CHARITY BIBS A STRONG COMMITMENT TO SOLIDARITY Beyond the sporting adventure, Wildstrubel by UTMB® is committed to making a tangible contribution to the local initiatives that bring its territories and communities to life. In 2026, 100 charity race entries are available to runners. They allow participants to combine their sporting challenge with a commitment to a cause and support projects in the fields of solidarity, inclusion, health and the environment. Donations are donated, through the UTMB Cares endowment fund, to the associations supported by the event. When registering, all runners also have the opportunity to make an additional donation. In 2026, this initiative represents CHF 20,000 in support of the associations and projects involved.

ENVIRONMENT A 5,000-LITRE WATER TANK RESTORED AT THE WILDSTRUBEL HUT In 2026, our commitment continues directly on the ground with the restoration of a 5,000-litre water tank at the Wildstrubel Hut. Located at nearly 2,800 metres above sea level, the hut is an iconic landmark along the Wildstrubel by UTMB® race routes. Restoring this facility will help improve water storage over the long term in a high-mountain environment where this resource is particularly precious.

To strengthen this commitment, a dedicated sustainability coordinator has joined the local organising committee, with the mission of supporting the organisation in implementing and monitoring its commitments.

ENVIRONMENT

Here are some examples of the actions implemented:

REUSABLE CUPS & PERSONAL UTENSILS Since 2006 UTMB Group has implemented a Bring Your Own Utensils (BYOU) policy, with a reusable cup included in the mandatory kit list. From 2018 onwards, runners have also been required to carry their own cutlery and bowl for meals. These rules apply to all Wildstrubel by UTMB runners. No tableware – disposable or otherwise – will be provided.

•

Runners’ aid stations are mainly supplied with local products and, whenever possible, organic products.

•

Local food trucks, in collaboration with restaurants in Crans-Montana.

•

Local beer, “La Marmotte”, brewed in CransMontana.

•

Reusable, non-disposable tableware for post-race meals and at the finish village.

•

Waste sorting: cardboard, glass, PET, aluminium and general waste.

•

Use of tap water from the local drinking water network at aid stations to reduce the use of plastic bottles.

Rubbish bags will be provided at bib collection to help you carry your waste between aid stations – including used loo paper, fruit peels, empty gel wrappers, and food packaging.

•

Public transport and shuttle services organised to encourage shared mobility and reduce the use of private cars.

•

Trophies made from local slate by a regional artisan company.

Rechargeable batteries are strongly recommended. If you must use single-use batteries, please do not discard them on the trails – dedicated collection containers will be available at aid stations.

•

This initiative reflects our desire to create a positive impact that extends beyond the few days of the event, providing lasting benefits to the infrastructure and to the people who explore the massif throughout the year.
