AE Strategic Plan: A Message from the Provost

To meet this moment, the UTMB Academic Enterprise will pursue a bold vision guided by six interconnected priorities:

IGNITE Dear Colleagues, As we look toward the future of health, education, and discovery, I am pleased to introduce the UTMB Academic Enterprise Strategic Plan: IGNITE. This plan is more than a roadmap for the next five years. It reflects our shared vision for what the Academic Enterprise can achieve and the impact we can have on the communities we serve. We are in the midst of a time of extraordinary change. Advances in artificial intelligence, precision medicine, digital health, and other emerging technologies are reshaping higher education and academic healthcare. At the same time, workforce shortages, public health challenges, and changing population needs call for fresh approaches and renewed commitment. The choices we make today will help determine how healthcare evolves for generations to come. That is why the theme of IGNITE is so meaningful. To ignite is to spark possibility, to energize action, and to create momentum. Through its six pillars, we will strengthen our people, expand opportunities, empower learners, support our communities, accelerate innovation, elevate teaching, and advance a culture of excellence. At its heart, IGNITE is about unlocking potential. It is about every member of the UTMB community finding new ways to learn, lead, and contribute to a healthier future. Progress happens when talented people are empowered to learn, collaborate, and lead. IGNITE provides a framework and a vision for what is possible when we move forward together. Thank you for your dedication to our mission and for the many ways you help advance UTMB every day. I look forward to all we will accomplish as we ignite the future of health. Sincerely, Susan Chubinskaya, MD, PhD Senior Vice President, Provost, and Chief Academic Officer The University of Texas Medical Branch
