Utile illustrated the story of New Bedford’s innovation economy across a variety of sectors, including marine tech, entrepreneurial tech, and the creative economy. Maps and diagrams synthesize the information presented at the Innovation Economy Roundtables and subsequent conversations with the City and NBEDC. The "Pitch Book" highlight the synergies and connections between the Quest Center, IoT Impact LABS, SMAST, the TDI District, and a potential innovation building located at Leonard’s Wharf (as part of the “Focus Area South” of the ongoing Waterfront Redevelopment Plan led by Harriman and Sasaki). Nearby redevelopment opportunities and constraints were identified with each of these hubs, including a summary of nearby commercial real estate, placemaking opportunities, zoning restrictions, pros/cons, and potential partners. While each site may have its own set of constraints, the overall network is illustrated under a single brand, and when relevant, links to the marine innovation sector.
